Rolex GMT-Master 1675 18k & Steel Vintage
Vintage Rolex GMT Master in stainless & gold from the early 70's. Serial #5804131
I would like to buy my frist watch and i want a good deal. What do you think i should pay for this GMT. |

Saw a 70's plexi GMT 2-tone in Los Angeles in 1996, back then the seller is asking USD 1,500. He's offering to swap it with cash to my recently bought GMT1 pepsi that i got brand new for USD 2,800.

I would put that serial number in the circa 1978-79 timeframe. Yes they did make TT 1675s.
Photos are a bit small to see any detail. At a glance looks ok, but I can't see any details.

I've been looking for one of those, there was one on ebay a few weeks ago that went for $3500 and change, but I missed it. There was another one that went for 3950.
Has anyone ever seen a fake 1675 two tone?

It may be a 16753 since the Rolex logo does not look applied. As long as the jubilee is tight (ish) and the hands and dial are corrosion free and tritium, I would be in the $3500-$3800 range

I got a 1675 from 1968....But at that time it was 14 K gold and not 18k (18 k came later in 1970 I have heard). Glossy gilt dial and very beautiful. I love it....!

I have one too....serviced two years ago. Seems legit but need closer pics, it's a solid watch.
It would have to be 1978 time frame....1979 was the beginning of 59xxxxx 5482000 .........................1978 5958000 .........................1979 |

I have never seen a matte dial TT GMT without a nipple dial or YG surrounds. That watch looks wrong to me. If it was a 16753 it should have the YG surrounds and a gloss dial. I may be wrong, but this appears to me to be a Frankenwatch...I'd stay away.
Edit: It could also be a 1675 converted to a TT which was not uncommon during this time period...again, that would still make it a Franken IMO! ~Scott
