My newest Seiko and first Spring Drive!
It's no Grand Seiko, but I'm loving my new Prospex LX SNR029. It's a fairly large watch, though smaller and lighter than the MM300. Because of the titanium construction it feels great on the wrist. The lugs conform nicely and the whole package looks solid on my 6.5" wrist. Overall, I'm very pleased from top to bottom. The only exception being the clasp which, though well-finished, is inexplicably flimsy and rattly. And in the last photo, with its fellow tool diver, the LHD.

Well, so I can admire it rocking +/- 0 spd while I'm diving my Ikea desk at home.

Interesting. I tried on the LX and found it a lil bigger than my MM300. Have you considered the GS SBGA231 while deciding on the LX?

The LX is indeed noticeably bigger than the MM300. Not sure why I originally typed "smaller." But it's much lighter on the wrist due to titanium.
I did look at the SBGA231. But ultimately I held back because I'm hoping that the 9RA5 innovations will filter down from the SLGA001/003 in time. This way, I have the SNR029 for a daily wear and the future 9RA5-variant-powered watch as my first GS diver. 47mm is just too much watch for me. |
