Thanks everyone for all the input. I traveled along to RSC with this gentleman yesterday afternoon and everything was confirmed authentic and although one of the technicians stated that they do not see anything that might imply that there is anything wrong with the date wheel or movement, I went with my gut and decided not to purchase the watch from him and he completely understood.
Although I wish discounting could be better on Subs compared to other brands and models, I decided to just dish out the extra cash and have received a fair offer from the AD near my office in Manhattan. I will be picking up my new Sub Date on Tuesday! Thanks again for everyone's help, I look forward to further contributing to TRF |

Just meet him at an AD or a trusted jeweler and have them confirm it by opening it up and checking out the movement. Unfortunately that's the ONLY way to verify authenticity with absolute certainty.
