Rate of Panerai Discounts?

Hello all,
I’ve always lusted after a 1950’s case Pam but have never got round to it after wearing most brands.
Typically, what kind of discounts can one obtain from an AD?
I’m very wary about going down the pre-owned route.
Regards

Where are you located? Where do you wanna buy from? Which country?

I know that different AD in different Countries give different discount rates. In Singapore where I am from, we can get up to 16% so far. There are 3-4 AD in Singapore. However, in Hong Kong, I got 20% off the MRSP in an AD whom I frequent.

Lastly, their boutiques DO NOT offer any discount for regular models. Precious metal models are a whole different story. You have to ask them. If you buy from the boutiques, make sure they give you at least an extra strap. I am not referring to the standard strap/s that come with the watch.

I didn’t purchase but best I was able to get if I were to buy was 10% at two different locations, not boutiques

I was able to get 20% off on a 422 about 1.5 years ago, but that's from an AD that i have a relationship with.

I would say go pre-owned if not having you name on the papers is fine by you.

I'd imagine you'd be able to get a substantial discount in the US for regular production models. A Panerai boutique will not offer you a discount. Often times they will throw in an additional strap as an incentive, but I have yet to hear of a boutique offering any significant discount. Panerai selections can sometimes be tricky when featured in ADs that carry other brands. You don't tend to see a lot of the more desirable references on display. That said, you could probably get a 15-20% discount if you bargain.

I'd stay away from larger corporate ADs that carry Panerai. I've noticed that places like Tourneau have been using the Rolex transitive property on other brands lately. IE just because stainless steel Rolex models are in demand and are selling at MSRP without discount, sales associates assume this applies to Breitling, Tudor, Panerai, IWC.

I know you said you don't want to go with a grey dealer, but honestly that's where I tend to see the best Panerai discounts and accessibility to models I'd want to buy. You don't need to go pre-owned. You can buy a brand new watch, but you'd likely not have the official Panerai warranty. Not a lot of family owned ADs carry Panerai (which is where I think you stand the chance of getting the largest discount). Outside of Panerai boutiques, I tend to only see the brand in large corporate chain ADs.

When I asked at an AD here in Europe not so long ago I was offered 20-25% on anything they had in stock, I have not bought anything there. They are not exactly selling like hot cakes anymore.

Hello, what stores of the "gray market" in New York advise me? I will be on vacation next month in NYC and I intend to buy a Pam ...
Thank you!
