No serial number anywhere on a modern Daytona watch case and/or rehaut is the sign of a big problem. No valid reason - even a replacement case has a serial number.

Yes which model is it - pre-rehault with serial? No serial anywhere? Pretty rare to see replacement cases, so it's a bit suspicious. Post pics!

Bi-metal watches should be heavier than steel, but it also depends on the number of links, type of clasp, etc etc. High end replicas unfortunately get really really close as even the movements are now copied and they use similar steel, so weight is no longer a good tell-tale.

- first thing is you need to get a jeweller's lupe. You can't inspect a watch without it, it's an absolute must. Learn how to use it, plenty of videos on youtube.
- how's the dial? You need the lupe to check lume and text print. Refer to comparison videos for lettering, spacing, shapes, etc etc.
- how about the hands look? Inspect fluorescent material with the lupe. Fake ones will be very flat, real ones are not. Plenty of videos on youtube on these too.
- bracelet, case, clasp - check polish, brushing, gaps. The best fakes are hard to tell though, so you need to have experience with "feel" of real Rolex bracelet. With experience you could tell with your eyes closed, just by feeling and bye listening. Another good way to tell is to google the 3-digit code as normally known replica ones are posted online.

The rest cannot be judged from images unfortunately.
- how does the winding action feel? You need to have a real one side by side to hear any differences
- How does the ticking sound next to your ear in a quiet room? More experience with Rolexes is needed for this one. Or the caseback needs to be opened to check for a clone movement or any aftermarket parts (jewels, rotor, spring, bolts, etc).
- These days almost all fakes have a Laser Etched Crown (LEC) at 6 o'clock.. Got this lupe yet? Check the LEC is correct - the genuine one should be perfect, unlike the ones of the fakes that never look great under magnification.

It's complex so I'd take it to a good Rolex specialist to or best an RSC who will be answer all of these questions. Normal jewelers don't care much, so they may give you the wrong answer, or won't check all of these things.

And remember, it could be a genuine watch, but with a fake bracelet, clone movement, aftermarket parts (movement, clasp, links, ceramic, bezel crystal) etc, so you need to check ALL of these. You have to treat this as if you're buying a car or a motorcycle - plenty of stuff to go through before you go for it, right?
