IWC vs JLC Annual Calendar. How to choose?
Which would you choose between the two? Hard to decide between these annual calendars. Trying to narrow it down to these two as I want the complication.
Your feedback as well as suggestions are highly welcomed. I do not know much about these two watches in terms of history nor the movement. Thanks.

I prefer the Jaeger. IWC is too large. Just personal taste. Can’t go wrong with either.

To help with your decision-making: Are you looking for a sports watch or a dressier watch? IWC is an annual calendar and the JLC is a “complete calendar” if I’m not mistaken. Which complication interests you more?

A big difference in how they wear.
JLC is much more dressy/formal and the IWC much, much more casual along with there being a big difference in physical dimensions of the two (diameter and thickness). Given what you have I would go IWC for some variety if the size is ok for you (there is also the IWC BP PC versions). |

I prefer the way that the day, date and month are displayed in the IWC, however the size is too big for me.
Due to that I would choose the JLC. |

If you can handle the size I will choose the IWC... for 30% more you can go Perpetual...

Not really the IWC I would be looking at. JLC easily in this H2H.

That JLC is a complete calendar and will need the date adjusted 5 times per year. Very simple by the pusher on the case. I own it in pink gold and my only complaint is the date hand can be confusing with the minute hand in certain lighting/conditions. I would prefer it with a sweep center seconds and a date window at 6 o'clock like the Patek.

As others have said, despite similar complications, they are very different watches. Consider perhaps a Portugeser. They sit somewhere between the Big Pilots and the JLC in terms of formality.

Although both are calendars, the IWC being an annual calendar and the JLC being a triple date moonphase calendar, they are very different watches. If you want a casual watch to wear with jeans, the IWC is the better choice. If you're looking for more of a dress watch, get the JLC. Personally, I think that particular JLC is one of the best looking watches made, regardless of price while the IWC is just okay looking.

JLC. I like the BP but don't get the combo BP and complications plus if getting a calendar watch I'd want the higher level of finishing you get with the JLC. Also, all BP are overpriced. I had a BP, great watch, but no way that should msrp over 50% more than a Rolex sub.
