5524G or 5960/1A

My AD has offered me these brand new at retail price. The 5960 is discontinued as we know. Which would you buy if it was your money?
All opinions appreciated, thanks.

5960A is the most complicated stainless steel watch which was in regular production. However many ADs could not sell the watch and I know some ADs had 2 in display for a long time. I would try to get a discount on the 5960A. I feel 5960A is better value for money compared to the 5524G which is not hard to obtain.

5960 for sure. I love both but you won't be able to get another opportunity to get a new 5960 anytime soon

Depends...

what other watches do you have?
If you have lots of steel watches, you can go for 5524g.

I was offered the same 5960, but pre owned they are about 9k cheaper

But the 5524g is better IMO hence why I own it, and love it

I wonder is it was the same Ad, name starts with a j, that's the sales person BTW, not shop

Ask yourself this...do you really like the shiny bracelet (and case) on the 5960 and are comfortable wearing it?

I believe the answer to that question will make up your kind for you.

5960 just looks a tad bit better. 5524G lost its appeal imo. I love the 5524R though.

I’m shocked how many people picked the 5960 just a few years back it was the black sheep. Many compared it to a Breitling lol

I’m a bit indifferent here. Try both on and see which pops. I think for me it would be the 5524 but can’t be certain as I’ve never tried on the pilot.

5524 is a unique watch. (Would have been incredible in steel!)

5960 is an ever evolving model.

5524G. I love the 5960 generally, but the A version.
