Is the market softening on the 126710?
Seems like prices are coming down a tad.

i dont think prices are sustainable long term, however i think 15k is the floor for the medium/long-ish term, but we are not there yet. David SW prices are still 19.5k

I don't think they are softening much with well known sellers asking $19K plus and unknowns asking $18k. Also there has been only one page of ads which at same time versus the 116500 is pretty paltry. Also with Rolex factory shutting down as they always down around this time of year and supply super tight don't see much changing any time soon.
https://www.rolexforums.com/search.p...rchid=20936938 PS I don't bother checking Chrono24 either as most of their ads are fishing expeditions where they don't even own watch.

I believe it will come down a bit! It all depends on how much rolex will decide to produce and what will come out in Basel 2019!
Daytona prices settled a bit when skyD was released then went back up again. If they produce as many as the hulk then I expect $11k to $13k but if they continue to be stingy with it then I expect $20K plus!

Would never pay twice the MSRP- just wouldn't do it! I think it will settle in a couple of years.

It's a big hit, can't see much downwards pressure until Basel when something new might rival it, maybe a CokeC.

Good question. I'll draw (somewhat) of a parallel with the BLNR...
When it was released, its pricing stayed pretty solid on the secondary market, right up there at MSRP. We all kept waiting for the drop, which was pretty normal in the pre-hysteria days. After all, you could have great deals on the LN, mid to high 6's, low 7's without breaking a sweat. Never came. Now that we are full-fledged Rolex hysteria, it commands a premium, and a pretty hefty one at that. Hmm... So. We have the BLNR with a very solid showing when times were (relatively) pretty soft with the secondary market. Now, enter the BLRO. It has entered the lineup with a 10+k premium, never seen the light of day at MSRP on the secondary market. Where's it going to go? TBH, I have no idea. These are crazy times indeed. Better question...what's the "strike point?" I would say now, gun to head. Many scoffed and derided the 3-4k premium that the D500 commanded right out of the gate...now if you put one up for sale at 15-16k, the mods would be on you for a scam alert before the ink dried. |

Definitely softening. Asking prices in the 17s now whereas only a few weeks ago, DavidSW was asking $21K...
