Bracelet sizing: Rolex vs Grand Seiko

Recently visiting a friend for Thanksgiving, also a fellow watch enthusiast/collector, he asked me to size his new Grand Seiko (sbga387). Being this is a Rolex forum, I’ll spare the opinion or observations of the GS, but I’m here to say that sizing a Rolex is a much easier and user friendly task.

The Rolex way of a threaded pin holding the links is genius and so much easier to size/secure with certainty. I wish I had taken pictures but the two part screw and middle floating pin of the GS links were a PITA.

The seiko pin and collar system to size bracelet is horrible, and I love seiko.

I’ve stopped attempting to size seiko bracelets - agree it’s nice Rolex is so easy to do.

I watched the AD size my wife's Snowflake and thought it looked like a very difficult thing to do. A small hammer was involved. It was easy for him to do though.

Sizing a Seiko is a pain in the ass. But you won't ever here of one falling out if it is put together correctly.

I sized my GS and didn't really have a problem other than the short screws being a bit more fiddly than the Rolex and Tudor type (which I have mashed up once or twice because they were too stiff with loctite to open).
