(another) Help me pick my next watch:

It's about time to get something 'new'. This go-around, I think it's gonna be something that's been on my wish list since I first got into watches about 10, 11yrs ago. So...curious about the collective's thoughts.

Won't be a daily wearer, but will still get worn often; not concerned about future value, not worried about passing down to kids...really the only concern is availability if I keep putting it off. So, these are the 3 I've narrowed it down to:

IWC Big Pilot; 5002, 5009/ 5010 (references with a 9 on the dial). This is the piece that got me into watches.

Speedy Pro Sapphire Sandwich of some variant...I know there's zero chance these will go away anytime soon. Only legitimate hangup is lack of date.

Omega AT <15,000 Gauss...This is the piece that got me looking closely into movements. I remember stepping into an Omega boutique and trying this on, as well as a DSOTM. I preferred this. Passed on it, though, because I had just gotten a PO.

Dark horse, if I can find one...IWC Aquatimer 3536 in steel.

I also prefer a watch with a date, but I gotta go with the new Speedy Pro. I just got one last fall and I gotta say it’s an amazing watch. You might not think you’ll wear this next piece all the time, but if you get a new Speedy you might just surprise yourself.

Forget date, go Speedy.

Go with what first got you into watches. Time to scratch that itch.

You definitely can’t go wrong with the Speedmaster Professional. Considering it’s heritage, it’s really great value for money.
