I have owned quite a few throughout the years, mainly the Divers, and I am happy with the quality, size and feel.

UN are a great manufacture. They have been responsible via Ludwig Oeschlin who is now curator of the MIH, for some of the most satisfactory horological design work of our time.
They created the most effective GMT, with an instant ability to send the hour hand back and forward taking the two digit, concentric, mono, level, big date (another of their creations) with it either way.
They also created what is arguably the most effective and practical Perpetual Calendar GMT movement. Like the GMT this is also capable of setting in both directions at any time.
Some of their high end pieces like the Sonata and Freak are incredible examples of horology at its finest and most creative.
They are pivotal to the Swiss watch industry in general. Their manufacture goes far beyond making their own timepieces. For example, they make the screws for more than 50% of the watches manufactured in Switzerland.

Though many of their watches appear to use an ETA 2892 movement. These are hugely modified, and built from parts in-house. For example the 2892 used in the GMT +- is delivered in around 75 parts. The finished movement consists of more than 150 parts.
I have a humble San Marco GMT +- . Mine is an earlier incarnation with the big seconds.
It is a very fine watch. All aspects of it's construction are beyond reproach for it's price point.

OK so here is one more for you

I used to own this, sold it a year ago, maybe should have kept it, but can't keep everything.

It is a very rare Hi beat from the 70s 36000 VPH. UN made only 1000 of these movements, which went into various watches. The movement was very loosely based on a ETA Ebuche with the obvious modifications to achieve the hi beat.
It was such a pleasure to watch the big seconds glide so smoothly around the dial.
Never seen another one

An independent and heterogeneous brand

UN, is an interesting brand that makes popular every day watches like their Marine Chronometers, Maxi Marine Divers and Dual Times being he most popular model. UN also makes some rather Avante garde haute horologerie pieces as well.

I own their Dual Time 42 mm watch which the easiest to use travel watch out there. Nothing is easier to set the time backwards and forwards while tracking your home time. It is a 100 meter WR watch suitable to swim in, has descent lume, and flies under the radar when worn while traveling. It is a bit sporty, yet woks fine in dressier situations.

My local AD has a pre-owned Freak in stock. I was able to play with it a bit. It is a VERY nice looking watch and a technical marvel. No crown at all. Everything is set via the bezel and a sort of bezel on the caseback. Just awesome. (But worth more than the last 3 cars I owned)

I just got my first Ulysse Nardin last week, I must say I really enjoy it even if it doesn't look like any modern watch of that brand at all.
