Rolex 5513 polished?
Hi I need some expert for vintage Rolex 5513. I mean is hard to see the pictures through the naked eyes sometimes. Three words I need to ask "the case polished?"

How to tell? I saw the pic 2 lugs are even and beveled edge looks clearly. Could it be replacement mid case?

Possibly unpolished but need more clear pics of the lugholes to see if they have been rounded at all. The original bevel edge is there

Yes, not great pics but the non crown underside should have a lip that goes around the edge. When polished it goes away. This one does not have the lip. Imho, polished. Pics are poor though.

All 5513's on the market have been polished

It has a really nice thick case regardless. I wouldn’t get hung up on if it’s been polished.

Not all.... but we spend way too much time fixating on this.
I traded off my 1675 because everyone said it had been polished; it hadn't. They were able to get another 25% premium out of it. This watch in question has been polished. That's fine. One would expect a 50 year to have been polished. |

Great looking watch. It may have been polished or just worn over time... I’d personally buy it and love it assuming the price is fair.
The greater issue to me, the insert and missing pearl. Not period correct for that watch. |

As mentioned above, this seems like a watch worth owning at the right price, but factor in the cost of the correct insert.

I wouldn't get hung up on the whole unpolished debate, to me a honest good looking watch is sufficient and it doesn't require the premium if the case is still nice and thick
