Pretty long day and I'm fatigued... read the title of this thread too quick and was thinking man, someone's significant other must be frustrated by this hobby if the OP is considering trading one for the other

Kudos to you for gifting something as cool and thoughtful as a nice watch. I'm a big proponent of watches as gifts. It may be a bit over your budget, but I'd say the Cartier Tank Française Large size, yellow gold. There are some that are automatic movement, if you can find one. Unfortunately the vast majority are quartz and still command a PM price. Surprised my wife with one for Christmas and I have to admit it was more fun giving her that watch than getting one for myself.

My wife wears a Hulk and a two tone Daytona.

But for a $10k budget I would get her a 16610 Sub. Tritium dial.
