SNZF15K1 Crown Issue

After setting date and day and pushing the crown back in it won’t seat into threads. It just spins around. I’ve backed it out and tried to reseat gently but still won’t catch. I have a 007 and this both are great watches though.

Dealer offered a small refund if I take care of it, which is reasonable, frankly I’m sure it’s cheaper for me to take to a local Seiko retail store for repair then spend the money to mail it back. Would this be quick fix or would it take ordering parts and a few weeks plus costs
Thank you

Hmm

I have a SRP605. It is a Seiko 5. The crown spins and does not screw in. I think that that is normal for this watch. I asked on Amazon and that was the answer.

Dear Mark,

We apologies for inconvenience caused.

We would like to inform you that just pull the crown out gently and
rotating it and it will tighten.

Best regards

Thx

I do not think that that watch has a screw down crown. Check the questions on Amazon.

It’s still water resistant then ? I don’t really dive, more like 10 meters at the most but I’d still have reservations getting under the water. I’ll do more research
Thank you

Water resistant

I believe that these watches are water sealed under the crown. If it says good for 100 meters underwater, I trust Seiko.

I’ve got one of these.

The crown isn’t a screw down crown. Your watch is fine

Agree with the others. I had this watch as well. It does not come with a screw down crown.

These seiko 5's are faux divers, meaning they are made to look like divers but they are generally only recommended by Seiko ok for swimming and showering etc, they are a sports watch.
Theres no screw down crown on this model but it is sealed and would be fine for rec diving probably, its just that you wouldnt use it for that purpose.
Seikos 200m ISO rated divers are made for diving.
cheers

Most of them do not have screw down crowns. But the Seiko Frankenmonster is one of the exceptions to this.

Yep, part of the reason i give the 5's a miss, nice watches though for the price point.

SNZF15K1 Crown Issue

Thanks for responses. I brought this to Porto de Galinhas, Br. Right outside of Recife, Brasil along with my GMTc. It worked flawless and didn’t worry about it one bit while diving. Although I only went down down about 15 meters maximum.

Cool watch. Glad it does not need a service.
