Excellent. Keep it looking original.

That's impossible to answer without seeing the watch. Value is determined by the dial, hands, case and bracelet. It's best to research on your own and ask in the vintage board if you're absolutely stuck. This thread isn't ideal for that.

Were the hands replaced in the past, colours between the dial and hands looks a bit different (dial looks beige'ish vs the white hands)?

Great work btw!

You'll learn over time what you can get out and what to leave.

There was a deeper scratch on one of the lugs, even after refinishing it is still slightly visible so I'm going to leave that.
Thank you for your answer.

Bas your work is incredible!

Does one watchmaker do the complete overhaul...from start to finish?

Yes these were probably replaced in the past, which is common practice.

Thanks a lot!
Yes we do the complete overhaul, movement & refinishing, and I wouldn't want it any other way

Even stuff you might perhaps find mundane, I'm sure would be of interest to many members.

ps. What's the 'RB'?
I might do more of these threads

I really don't know what the RB stands for though.

Back again...

Bas I appreciate you're super busy but maybe a question and answer thread would be great. There was a successful one with a person who worked in an AD.

Having you here is a plus, as you provide an insight that we would never get to see.

Sorry for taking your thread off tangent.

These are some of the most interesting threads on TRF. Thanks Bas for posting these. I love seeing what can be done to revive these older, well worn watches.
