16710 bezel insert

Can someone in the U.K. tell me how much a genuine Rolex insert is to buy for a 16710 from an AD.
I am trying to buy a Pepsi for mine and checking out the forum and eBay but don’t know what is a good buy or a rip off.

Hi,

In the UK it’s £55 from a Rolex Service Centre (if you want the old back, less if you don’t).

Regards,
Duncan

Thanks Duncan, it looks like people are trying to make fortunes selling them for more. Is that price while the watch is being serviced or just as a one off?

Not sure how some of the sellers work out their selling price...

Cost price x any number x 2 x 3 lol

People will pay extra for faded inserts in the belief that it adds “authenticity” to the watch...

You can just get the inset without service. But it depends on the original inset your watch came with. You may not be able to get the inset you want. There was a thread which covered this issue. If it originally came as all black you may not be able to purchase the Pepsi/Coke at the London RSC as mentioned by another member. But mine was originally black but sold initially years ago in Singapore and I was able to get the Pepsi/Coke insert from the London RSC

You don’t need to have a service and you can have it done while you wait (twenty minutes if not busy).

You can also buy a jubilee or oyster bracelet. What a tremendous reference! If only the new six digits were as easily interchangeable.

I wonder if someone’s tried placing an insert under a UV lamp for a few days or weeks. That might give it a nice pink patina.

People have used every method you can imagine to get a certain look.

An AD wont stock them. But a RSC will.

Give Rolex at St. James a call.
But I am pretty sure they will.

I bought a Pepsi and all black inserts to go along with my coke gmt, as well as a black insert for my lv.

Think I paid £33 ish each about 10 years ago thru a contact at a London AD. Unfortunately she no longer works there.

Rolex RSCs will REPLACE your bezel insert for about $80 US but they keep the old one. When I had my 16710 serviced I replaced the original with a decent but inexpensive lookalike. Rolex "confiscated" it and replaced it, as I had expected.

I’ve done this at the Rolex St James RSC. My watch came with a coke and you can call them ask them to change this to a Pepsi - its about £55 to change to Pepsi and £80 to swap and keep the original insert. They are more than happy to help.

Just phoned an AD with whom I don’t have a relationship. He quoted me £55 to change from a coke to Pepsi and I can keep my coke. Won’t believe it until I’ve tried it.

I have been told over the phone the same ... then right in the store they say that Rolex wants them to put on the insert right away and ask to keep the other piece...
I went to two different location before I talked to someone who understood why I wanted to keep my faded insert.
they are hard to come by , I don't get why Rolex put such a stink about a 50-80dollars item.

if you are concerned they will keep the old insert, just pop it out and take them the watch without the insert and ask them to fit whichever of the three you want.

From my (limited) experience they will always let you know what they are going to do and offer you the option. I don’t think they would confiscate items your old bezel insert like at secondary school.

In the UK, if it was originally sold as a 16710 (coke) or 16710BLRO (pepsi) they will, if it's a 16710LN they will not.
Believe me, they will check.
You will have the option to keep the original.
They will also sell you a jubilee and let you keep the original, no problem at all.

This. Best thing to do is give them a call and let them check the serial. I have purchased a new black and Pepsi bezel for my coke and a jubilee in the last 3 months. Kept the oyster and the coke bezel.

55 quid each for the bezel I nserts. 850 quid for the jubilee.

I wish that I had known about the jubilee but you live and learn. I bought the watch used as you can’t get a new one and the dealer (not Rolex) charged me £500 to change the bracelet to the jubilee. I could have bought a new one for £850 and still had the original.

I knew it was too good to be true. Went to dealer today to buy the Pepsi insert only to be told that the only thing they can do is return my insert which is mint to Rolex and they will send whatever insert was originally fitted, but I wouldn’t get mine back.
Oh dear another dead end.

I have a 16710 Pepsi with a faded insert, asked RSC to have a new Pepsi, then requested a Coke and a black insert with a Jub bracelet, kept my faded insert, got the 3 new insert (£40 each) and the Jubilee with the correct end links (for the no holes at £850) and kept the Oyster. That was a few months ago.
I don’t know if Rolex changed their policy since.

RSC in St James's were happy to sell me a pepsi insert for my 16700 LN, as other posters have said you get to keep the old one, but you just pay more - theyll even put it in a nice green velvet bag for you. I wouldnt go through an AD unless you really cant get to London. A visit to St James's is a bit of an event with the staff in their Rolex livery lab coats.
