Hopefully it was selling too many watches to Grays!!! Do you have any idea why they lost their franchises?

Pardon my ignorance, but are they losing their franchise status for not meeting sales numbers, for shady grey market dealings, or a combo of both?

Somehow I doubt that six UK Rolex dealers are the source of the grey market problem, hope that continue trading with other brands rather than closing up shop.

I'm sure Rolex UK's intention is to eventually remove all the independent AD's and only have the big chains (Aurum etc) with Rolex only boutiques etc.

Could be, in the Netherlands it's defacto already so. Big chain or chainlike in Schaap & Citroen (nationwide) and Gassan (amsterdam + Schiphol). Only one independent here, Leon Martens in the southeast.

Heading that way, similar to AP, they want as much control over allocation and sale price to the end user as possible.

I think it's a shame. But I'm not Rolex and they can/will do as they see fit. Maybe it was a mutual arrangement?

My little provincial AD is an authorised RSC. I hope this affords them extra protection if the cull continues. Although a point may come when they want to drop out. They've always been positive ambassadors so I think it unlikely. And they do very well out of the RSC side (they tell me).

I'll be interested to see who we've actually lost when the information becomes available.

Makes sense. Hopefully it is one step closer to direct sales. I walk into Tourneau, put a deposit down and order a watch. Rolex determines when I get it, not some greedy AD. When it arrives, I come to Tourneau to pick it up and they get a cut from Rolex on the sale. We can hope right!

Getting competent staff is a little more difficult on the RSC side of the business.

If you play loose your going to lose.

Where is this world going!!??? We are all destined to feel the pain of perhaps getting that dream Rolex after decades of waiting, only to appreciate if for a few hours before we are gone......Well at least it seems that way

Where is this all going to end ?

A few, 'showrooms', and a web store of course.

Delivery, by stealth drone, natch.

Well you did ask!

A Tudor yes, Rolex never. Same with Patek and AP.

what “buying experience?” Nobody can buy anything! People are being laughed out of showrooms by smug salespeople when they ask about a submariner. Who wants to preserve that? Certainly not the customer. Aside from the fact that Rolex isn’t Patek or AP, all indications are AP is moving towards going direct.

Man... you're English!

Loose and Lose are different things. Loose is the opposite of tight, and it will always be the case.

You really ought to know better.

Another thing that 'grinds my gears' people who don't use the phrase. 'in the flesh'... they use 'in the metal'.

My goodness... I just want to face-palm every time I see it.

Hahaha I know it's silly and I do not wish to be offensive, it's not my intent. But as native speakers of the Queens English! Come on man! We've got Americans to educate! (Disclaimer: I am joking... I love you Merican's) haha <3
