That's a stunning piece, Adam. I love the attention to detail that gives Sunday a red font

Thanks for the info on HK Express too. I might have to do that before I repatriate home later this year.

Thanks very much Patrick. I think I'll see how it goes when the weather warms up a little, as I prefer slightly loose to slightly tight, but no we should definitely have another little GTG before then anyway

Thanks Paul. Red Sundays is kind of a Seiko trademark. My 1965 Weekdater has the same colour (and much the same number style, too): https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=578674

Such a beautiful watch. Thank you for sharing. A GS quartz as opposed to a mechanical has long been on my list. Your new acquisition is feeding the fire haha.

I have. I’ve got it earmarked and it’s worth the reread every time! So much to appreciate and admire about how GS does their quartz. The 9F movements themselves are beautiful as well. When the time comes that more people come to appreciate GS for what it is, I hope that more models are released with casebacks like this. The movements are something to be proud of.

I've had my eye on that one for a while, too. I wish mine had a clear caseback.

Congratulations. Great watch and place.
Japan is probably my favourite for long weekends holidays with wife and kids.

Thanks again for the help with sizing my GS quartz They are really cool watches, with great finishing for the money

Unfortunately I moved back to the US earlier this month, so any HK GTGs will need to proceed without me for time being

Great pick, Adam – certainly not the most obvious choice when it comes to Grand Seikos.

Thanks, I was originally going to pick up an SBGV005 or 205 but the 44GS-style case just looked too polished and shiny in the metal. I prefer the polished sides/chamfers and brushed tops.

Yip Sir said the older GS with Seiko icon will become classic.

But this GS icon only watch looks clean and high class.
