Icon7 Happy National Rum Day! Let's See Your Rum...

National Run Day falls on August 16 every year—that's right, a whole day dedicated to the celebration of rum. After whiskey and the vodkas, rum is the third most popular spirit in America. With that in mind, there are plenty of people out there to enjoy this holiday to the fullest.

No one quite knows just who started National Rum Day, but they do understand the slogan. "Make every day rum day" is the name of the game. If you're not quite feeling up to that, though, you should at least spend August 16 with an appreciative drink in hand.

Really? Damn it...sipping on Jameson right now. Rum is fairly new to me and I discovered it last summer. I really enjoy it, but have not had anything too fancy yet. Plantation, Real McCoy, etc.

I'm a Brugal Anejo man myself, but I may have returned to the US with a few bottles of Cuban made Havana Club. It comes in a close second

The demon rum has made me do some VERY bad things, but boy do I love it!

I enjoy Mount Gay and OJ. I didn’t know it was rum day. Went with a martini tonight.

I’m not especially fond of rum but my Dad and my Aunt knew the family in Cuba that made Ron Matusalem before the revolution. I still remember their favorite drink, a Cuba Libre...

Still remember the old bottle of 15 or more y.o. rum.

It also graced our Christmas fruit cakes too.

I don't see much point in splashing out silly money on rum - Havana Club 7 is a perfect all rounder.

You know i couldn't drink orange juice for like 10 years after i got so sick drinking screwdrivers at the end of freshman year so i know the feeling.

Every time i smelled it, it would make me sick

Rum matrix

Does it get you drunk? If yes, good. If no, bad.

Bottle gets dusty, but the liquor stays clean.

That surprises me. I thought Tequila or Cognac would be the third.

I've never seen my acquaintances drinking Rum, while I've seen them with Whisky, Cognac, Vodka, Tequila, Gin, Italian Amari, and even Absinthe.

Is this even any good? If I’m going to actually drink some I don’t want it to be not good rum. Then I’ll probably never try it again . Pretty sure we got it as a gift. I know i didn't buy it

Small world, you have my favorite rum, which is hard for me to find locally. Never seen the 15year before, a bit jealous. No worries about how long you’ve had it, enjoy!
