Another pawn shop selling a fake Submariner

Tried to informed to seller. I was insulted with words you can't imagine. Let's get this taken down.

Spelling out the specific 'Tells' only helps the scammers. But......at first glance poor quality all around. The easiest way is to ask for a serial number and google it.

With those low resolution photo’s I couldn’t really inspect it closely enough to be certain of anything.

It looks ok to me.. could do with better pics, but I don’t see any immediate red flags.

The font of the date wheel and the fact that it is not centered. The cerachrom bezel quality as well as "platinum coating" is off. It's a good quality fake but the all the signs are there.

It was a fake and a very bad one at that. Crown guards, dial font, LEC, shape of coronet on buckle, I could go on but a moot point now. Somebody got the shaft, unfortunately.

You may be looking at the fake one that eBay forwards you to from that link for a supposed church group now that the other auction has ended. I just reported it.

how does pointing out specific tells help scammers? Wouldnt it help members to be able to spot a fake so they can protect themselves? I dont agree or see how it helps scammers, it will deter them more than anything

It helps them a lot.
By pointing out the area that point to it being fake - the seller (scammer) then attempt to hide those areas.

We are not hear to teach or help anyone dupe other, we are here to just simply attempt to authenticate or not

No, I still don't 100% agree it was fake. The crown guards look just like my own (usually THE main giveaway a Submariner is fake), the pics are not clear enough to determine if the dial font is off...and for the record, the date is NOT centred in my watch and it is real..when I took it back to the AD they told me it was within tolerance (granted my own date is not centred for being too high rather too far left). So until here are clearer pics, in my opinion this cannot be determined to be fake beyond reasonable doubt.

..date not centred, genuine watch..

It’s 100% fake.

I agree 1000% Adam. The value here is not to make it easy for stupid scammers to easily pull one off.

If anyone wants a fake spotted it is better to start a thread here in this section.

Yes. And no, it’s not an issue on a genuine clasp. The watch is fake. I hope you manage to get your money back.

There's a gap bigger than the gap in Michael Strahans front teeth where the end links meet the case....
