I have heard about moped robbers in London

Good for the boxers, but as stated, if the robbers were armed, it could have been ugly. People want nice things, by hook or by crook.

Moped theft seems to have moved beyond just London now ...

i say it all the time but where are the news articles when someone goes somewhere and nothing happens?

There aren't any as its not exactly news. So yeah, its always skewed in terms of perception no matter where it is.

That's because there is no news interest when nothing happens. So I agree with you, the news is always skewed.

anyone actually wear their watches? thought Apple watch was the thing these days and your rolex gets locked up in a safe to appreciate.

Lots of my foreign friends are buying these things in bulk and just locking them into a safe until they double/triple

This was in Majorca.

I must admit, I forgot that I was wearing my GS in London. We got back yesterday, went to Rules restaurant, The Aldwych Theatre to watch the Tina Turner musical, The Royal Opera House to watch Swan Lake performed by the Bolshoi and walked extensively on The Strand, Oxford St and Jermyn St. Looked at fabulous watches that I would never be able to afford in Harrods, Selfridges and Bond St. Stayed in the heart of Soho in Hazlitts on Frith St just up from Ronnie Scotts. I was aware of my surroundings but never once felt threatened or in danger. I was extra aware of my bags and cases in Kings Cross station, but isn't everyone?

I am glad I never took notice of some of the comments on previous threads here otherwise I wouldn't have gone.

London is a fabulous place.

It can happen anywhere, but robberies are definitely on the increase as watches has become hot commodities over the last couple of years.

Yup, been to most of those places this year and never had an issue or even remembered I was wearing a watch at all, and this is after last year the moped thing became so news prominent that I did take caution going into London for the first time but it was the same as usual.

Wife and I are in Miami and Miami Beach visiting friends and relatives. We’re living dangerously with me wearing a 16610 and wife wearing her stuff.
