I’m looking at a couple of pieces. Is it me, or does the watch markets seem dead? Wondering if now is a good time to buy, or should I just wait?

All we know is that it’s not the top! So it’s a better time to buy than when prices have been going up for 24 straight months. Buy when everyone’s selling and sell when everyone is buying.

Depends how desperate you are, whether those pieces are still in production and how in demand they are. If it were my money I'd be waiting.

There is a number where I'd stack Daytonas instead of gold coins. Wouldn't borrow to buy anything at current interest rates though.

Seems like 116500lns keeps coming up for new for sale. Wonder when that will dry up. Still holding out for a cooling in prices cooler to 25k. One can hope at least….

Well, it depends. If you have so much money that purchasing that watch impacts your budget no more than would purchasing a candy bar, and if you wan't it badly, pull the trigger now. If, on the other hand, the purchase would significantly impact your budget, and if you really want it now, pull the trigger and trim back other discretionary spending. Otherwise, just wait.

Any new Moda quotes on the following:
BLNR 126610LV 26240ST (blue or green dial)? Seems like AP continues to take hits and market is becoming a bit glue-ish? |

There are some watch only white Daytonas in the mid 20s. Black in low 20s. I see a white one for 25 and has been sitting.
Wouldn't buy watch only personally for this reference tho.. |

and there were people SWEARING on this very forum that we'd never seen Daytonas in the teens again. It was laughable. Happy to see some sense of normalcy coming back into play.

Watch market isn't dead, RESALE market is becoming dead. There's enough new fish to maintain MSRP for years to come in my opinion (strictly talking hot SS models from AP/Rolex/Patek). Some of those guys that were willing to pay MSRP might also bail though once they realize it's not really going to make them money when they walk out the store.

That was always my theory as well. Even steel Rolex at MSRP is going to be a pass if backpack flippers can't get their sales tax back plus a grand or two.

I’ve given up on getting anything from ad. That party train has left. I just bought a watch off moda. My first. It’s a sub. It’s supposed to arrive tomorrow. Wanted to test the waters and see how things work out with that whole thing. If it works out, I would consider getting more through them. |

I was disappointed to see the new Ti YM42 asking around $42k ($14k MSRP). Relisted at $39k but still dumb. I'd like to buy one at $16k maybe $19k tops.

I’m still so confused why some greys are still listing models at prices that were market a year ago. Do they really think they will still be able to pull the wool over someone’s eyes?

Lol sellers on moda are really getting cringe. A seller who sold a used 15400 boasted that it sold in 346 minutes. Lol really!?

So what does the collective wisdom say on a price for a Daytona John Meyer?

Where it's heading or where it's at? I've seen really good ones for $80k. Today I saw a stickered one for $71k which is almost low enough to make one nervous about the seller... but maybe that's where we're at.
