US Open - WIS...Did anyone catch it??

I was in a store today that had on the US open. The announcers were talking with Rafael Nadal, while watching Djokovic play.

the announcer, not McEnroe, said some "Watch Idiot Savant stole your $520k watch in Toronto"

Just wondering if anyone else caught that?!?!

I think I'll be there during the first days, so if you see a blonde, young, guy with a GMT IIc on the wrist, say hello!

for sure - went for the first day last year and saw Murray vs. Del Potro - was a pretty good match.

the crowd control was pretty crap to say the least, i hope they have learnt from last year. the "indoor practice court" was pretty good, you can catch some cool players if you are on the right day (i mean, they are all cool.... gotta be top 8 to qualify )

not sure which days we will be going, will check later.

here are some pix from last year

Nice pictures! I've never seen Federer play live so I hope to see him play there. I did see Nadal and Söderling play eachother during Stockholm Open a few years back (yes, the Swede won ). Well, I'm certainly looking forward to it.

Please tell me what watch you're going to wear to the matches. I have a tendancy to look for nice ones during those types of events (a sickness for sure...)

i enjoy watch Soderling, and thought he was a breath of fresh air when he first came on board - too bad he lost the QF against Fed the other day. (im surprised that IKEA hasnt made a move on him...yet)

The above Rafa pic was taken when Rafa was playing Soderling.... Soderling played very well in that match. it felt like Rafa didnt want to be there, maybe he was in a winding down mode already

no idea what i will be wearing on that day Carl... honestly.

watched 2 matches last year, and i wore these 2

Murray Vs. Del Potro

Nadal vs. Soderling

I know Nadal and Söderling are not the best of friends and they play very differently indeed. Söderling; perhaps the fastest base line shots in the world and Nadal; perhaps the most curved base line shots in the world. The slugger versus the endurance player. No matter what, very fun to see!

I will be wearing my GMT IIc unless I get a Hublot until then!
