Trade my omega DSOTM for a blancpain leman flyback chrono in rose gold?
Hey everyone. I have a "pitch black" omega dark side of the moon with full set and I am being offered a Blancpain leman rose gold flyback chronograph with F piguet 1185 movement. Limited edition of 250 pieces from the year 2005. The watch comes with watch, box, and booklets but no warranty paper. Do you think I am getting a good deal in this trade? I have no idea what this watch is worth but I like it.
Josh

Can’t help with values other than saying in ss they tank big time relative to the outrageous msrp. I much prefer that rg beauty to the omega

I don't know values either but I tried on the RG BP FF recently and was really taken with it, BP make their RGs real nice.

C24 listings indicate the Blancpain is “worth” $11.5k, but the DSOM can be had for $7.5k.
You’re aware the watch is only 38mm compared to 44mm? |

I own the stainless Blancpain and love it. It is my dress watch and fits my 6.5" wrist perfectly. I've also owned the 9300 Speedmaster and the Blancpain is much thinner and smaller than the Omega. I do think that the value is similar. A rose gold Leman Chronograph on a bracelet was recently listed about $12,000 and didn't sell. I see similar gold ones to this on eBay (strap only) in the 9's which is probably asking too much.

So I’m not sure what else is in your collection but I do like the trade. I’m very biased since I have three watches with the 1185 movement (Blancpain 2185, Vacheron 49140, and Audemars 25860). I do miss my Speedy a bit so have been contemplating getting an Omega 9904 Speedmaster Moonphase.

My Bremont is I think 43mm so close to the DOSM for sizing purposes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I like the BP better. Seems like the BP is worth more, do you have to add cash?

Blancpain makes lovely watches but, as you know, resale is generally poor. Still, this seems like a fair trade and I much prefer that Blancpain to your Omega, as it's beautiful and fairly versatile even though it's rose gold. I would make that trade if I were you.

The price plummet between new and used is brutal, but if it's a straight trade across, I'd say you were getting a good deal. The movement is solid, the finishing is to a high level, if you want a dressy gold chrono, this is up there with the best.

Thanks for the advice guys. I decided to pass for now on the trade but I may make a cash offer.
