Always wanted a Porsche...

...but, like many things I thought I'd own someday they became something out of my price range.

Funny how when I was a kid, my friends older brother bought a 1967 Targa for $3600 (which was a ton of money) but it was only three years old.

Like all things cool, prices are far more now in relative terms. Not to mention, one usually has to have a large bank account to afford the insurance on such beauties.

When I was in the Air Force in the mid-80's. I looked at a new Submariner for $860 at Ben Bridge. The thought process was that once I obtained my degree and blah, blah, blah, I could buy one. Then, like all things cool, the price quickly jumped to thousands of dollars and it took me years to justify $3100 for a used model I wear today.

From the title, I was afraid to click this thread. I didn't know what kind of freaky stuff you guys were into. Glad I found Porsches.
