They are the Red Wing iron ranger in the colour amber harness, with cork sole.
I'm usually a size EU 43, but these are size 41.

Can't one just go to a good shoemaker and have them swap the sole for a rubber one?

That’s equivalent to a US full size instead of a half size. I could be wrong however I believe most people size down by 1/2 US.

Or add a toppy and some do that. However at the time I didn’t want to have to do that. I just purchased the Beckmans instead.

Do you guys think I can wear these boots with a slightly lighter than navy suit

Not with these laces though. Dark brown laces.

My instincts say no, but I'm not above being weird occasionally.

Great looking boots! It depends on the occasion but I think they are more causal.

Whatever those 3rd ones from the top are. They are awesome Abdullah. Like the color. Just not sure I would wear them a lot. And to have that kind of $ wrapped up in a pair of JL I would have to go with a more mainstream color.

Those are City III’s in Khaki museum calf and linen. I wear them busines casual. Anything you’d wear loafers with.

They go well with a polo shirt and casual summer slacks (Columbia, etc).

Not sure about the rug. IIRC it is machine made. We have some stunning hand made Persian rigs, but the missus won’t let me put them on the floor. Kind of like locking your watch in the safe, they’re in protective custody.

Ah, i can’t tel from the pictures if it is hand made or not, but the design is really nice. I really enjoy rugs.

When I went to Armenia last year, I bought a very nice handmade rug that’s about 75 years old. There are a lot of vintage rug dealers there who sell beautiful rugs. There are some new companies (one was on the Conan show when he went to Armenia, but I forget the name...) that I visited, but the designs are awful and the prices are stupid expensive.

While I may be biased - I thoroughly enjoy a good pair of Fratelli Rossetti laceups or loafers. As with anything, never pay MSRP.

Hey gents, quick question; getting married in August at a vineyard in Central Coast California and looking for a nice pair of shoes to pair with a navy/blue suit. I own a few pairs of Allen Edmonds, my last acquisition was a pair of MacNeil in November in oxblood. The ideal shoe will look great with jeans and slacks after the wedding to serve a continued purpose.

I was at the AE store today here in LA and tried on these: https://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/m...r=1645#start=2

The horse hide is great, I just didn't love the shoe for some reason and it would be my fourth pair of AE. I'm looking to spend around $600, the shoe would have to fit my wide feet (I'm a 9 EEE in AE shoes)... If I had had the wise foresight, I probably would have bought a Cordovan pair of Alden long wings (same idea was the MacNeil from AE) but the MacNeil I was able to buy for ($170 during their Thanksgiving sale + Amex cashback credit for AE). Any advice at what shoemakers I could look at next?

Look at Alden and Carmina in that price range (here's a good eye candy site https://gentlemensfootwear.com/).

Definitely don't want anything black. Brown is safe, but burgundy colors are a great casual fit with jeans.

I wouldn't go with a cap toe as casual crossover either (check out split toe's or wing tips)..

In that price range I would highly recommend Enzo Bonafe

https://www.skoaktiebolaget.com/collections/enzo-bonafe

Styleforum and Skoaktiebolaget would e great paces or fitting advice.

A few things:

- How do you guys feel about suede shoes? I'm thinking about getting some suede loafers, but I have zero experience with suede shoes. Leather is relatively easy to take care of, but I would imagine suede being tougher to maintain.

- I emailed Edward Green and they said this season's Galways will show up around mid-end of August.

The plan is to order whatever color I like in a 10UK and see how they feel. They don't offer the F fitting unless you go MTO, so fingers crossed that the 10E works with very thin socks.

Shipping and returns are free so if they don't work, I will just return them.

Suede is easier to maintain than leather. Brush it with a suede brush and you’re good.

I have two pairs of JL suede loafers. Comfortable, and a more casual shoe than leather.

This. People think suede is more delicate than regular calf leather but that's not true. It's actually tougher since it doesn't scuff or scratch as easily.
