My 2254.50 was a bust

I received my 2254.50 last week. It was running 21 seconds slow. I sent it in for service ($550.00) only to find out that the markers were lifting off the dial. They won't perform a service with the dial like that as to the fact that when they blow off the dial, the markers would get blown off. A new dial is now $450.00. Three months ago they were going for $160.00. So I am taking advantage of the 14 day return policy and off she goes. I'm not paying another $1,000.00 for the watch. I think I am going to stay away from watches that are 10 years old. I already have a new watch coming and it is another brand. Sorry Omega, it was fun while it lasted!

That sucks, sorry to hear.

I'm currently wearing a 50yo Omega which is running great, they're not all bad!

Sorry about your Omega experience. My Omega is 70 years old and it runs and looks nice.

Thanks

I realize Omega are great watches. I just happen to have got one with the markers not secured to the dial so well.

I have the 2054.50 which is basically the same watch. I bought mine when they first came out. I have beat the living crap out of the watch and it still keeps almost perfect time. Both watches use the Omega 1120 movement.

It almost sounds like your watch was damaged internally. I would guess water damage of some type before you purchased it. And, it doesn't sound like it was repaired correctly or maybe not at all.

Sorry to hear about your experience but at least you can return it, albeit $500 short.

No $500.00

I did not have the service done. Only visual inspection. They noticed it then.

Pitfalls of older watches.
Often many hard lessons learned.

I recently also returned a watch i really liked.
When service opened case back they discovered a rusty movement.
New watch was also my resolution at a premium of course.
