GMT ICE? pffft. PLEASE.

While browsing through swissluxury.com Iwas looking at quite a few very nice watches..The under Piaget I found some of the most expensive, and honestly insane watches I've ever scene.

Here is the Rolex GMT ICE, costing about...$485,000 I think it is, and also a picture of a Piaget Limelight...Costing a whopping 1.2 Million dollars!

I find it amazing how some people can afford to spend so much on a watch...It makes me wonder what their house looks like!

I think it's a bit over the top. I like more of a classic looking Rolex. How would you ever know if the diamonds were all real?

I'm surprised rappers with their bling-bling obsession aren't sporting these.

Even if I were a billionaire ,I would still stick to SS models or the white gold models with no bling bling ! The wearer of this watch is always in an state of mind where the craving for the compliments is at the utmost peak .

Agreed 100%! My boss is not a billionaire, but in the 100 million category, for years he wore a SS Air King, then upgraded to a GMT, also stainless. After he saw my Daytona a couple times, he wanted one and so now has a SS Daytona. Point is, he could buy the blingiest bling bling with the best of the blingers, but wears a SS because it's not flashy. I believe (Hope) I would show common sense like that if I'm ever in that situation.

At somepoint bling becomes sillly. I would never want a watch that looks like a 13yo girls rhine stoned cell phone. However, if I even got to the 10 million dollar level, I'd definately go platinum!

I think these watches are targeted at the young and rich. Watches are jewelry to some people and if we love Rolex's that much, there are people that love it just as much but want the bling...not my cup of tea but if I were a rapper, most definitely I will wear that.

If I'd pay too much for a watch, it would be for its technical prowess, as in for a complication Breguet...wouldn't want a blinged up shiny version of a watch I can buy decent in steel...I like to see others wear blingy watches..just looks flashy and actually looks nice if worn well, not like loose like a rapper..but I dont want one for myself..just not for my wearing.

There are too many places in the world where you will have your arm chopped off to steal that watch because it's easier than trying to wrestle you for it.

Just ridiculous!
Doesn't matter how much money someone has, if they feel the need to own one of those, they need help!

Your bling is tasteful.

Almost as tasteful as mine...

Wanna trade?

For a mans watch, I don't like any diamonds on any watch. None, nada, end of story. Diamond hour markers and/or bezel on a ladies watch is OK, but that's it.

The GMT in question is one of the nastiest things I've ever seen.

Those watches are marketed to women, not men. Even the GMT Master II.

I have done a few Leopard Daytona's for ladies, and I think they look awesome!

I bet there are some nomads out there in Saudi Arabia that have a few of those tucked away in the sack hanging over the hump on their camel. Have you looked at a satelite picture of Dubai lately?
