New dial under wraps?

Came across a beautiful new dial.

Seems as if the most trafficked, American, European, et. al, watch blogs and journalists are prohibited from writing on these new models as they surely must have seen and photographed the many other variants of watches that the brands had during SIHH.

...This must explain the fact that every online watch blog reviews only the same handful of new releases at the same time.

That watch is causing more consternation than US/NOKO negotiations. It’ll be out later this year.

Yep, this was one of the “unofficial official” SIHH models from this year. Some people think it really is a real Panerai and not a Canal Street knock-off, but others aren’t so sure.

Nice bracelet though.

As with everything, buy it if you like it.

How many Fonzie jumps had panerai done in the past 5 years?

I like the bracelet. But I don’t like the dial. Looks cheap.

If this is indeed a real model, I am kind of surprised. I thought Panerai was really moving away from the bracelet. It seems over the past few years they've quietly shut down most models that do not come on a strap. I'm personally not a fan and would be surprised if these sell well. They do not have much in the way of the classic design cues that people look for in Panerai. It's also too much "metal." For me, the reference looks washed out with a steel dial, large steel case, and then a chunky steel bracelet. Looks almost like the designs Breitling has been moving away from from.

I hope its a 40-42mm. I like it for being different. But have to see it in person making final call.

I just don't think they can / should keeping the same 12-3-6-9 printed or sandwich dial. Definitely try something new to explore broader market.

No, Panerai recently re-introduced the original "crown guard" style bracelet from the early 2000s and features it on a few models. The bracelet change was a good move IMHO, because the late 2000s/early 2010s version was pretty generic. Of course, by far, most models come on straps.

Thanks for the video. It actually looks a little better in the video compared to photos. Still not for me. But, not horrible, either.

better than the pic but very monochromatic and especially so on a bracelet.

Usually Panerai is famous for its at-a-glance legibility, but this model might change that with silver hands on silver dial...

saw this in person at the boutique and definitely not my cup of tea. IMO the champagne dial looks like an aftermarket mod on a Rolex, but to each his own
