977 & 978 - the silver dials
42 or 44 mm, same movement. Basically priced the same.
The dial looks better in these photos, IMO. With the “9” on the dial, the 44 seems like the way to go. Not for me, but not “fake Panerai”, either. Source: https://www.fratellowatches.com/pane...0977-pam00978/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Agree. Some of the unbridled hate for these pieces is absurd. The whole “how dare Panerai create a watch I don’t like” attitude is tiresome at best. I know for a fact that many potential clients walk in off the street asking for a silver dial. These will sell very well. Mission accomplished and we’re all the better for it in the long run. Rant over.

Panerai should put black hands and markers border on this piece, otherwise the legibility will suffer...kinda like the white dial Rolex OP with silver hands...

Wow! Just, wow!
If I was looking for another watch, the 44mm would be near the top of my list. I'd do away with the bracelet though and have the legend that is Mr. Glance knock me up a black Teju. Thanks for sharing, Mr. Jones. Love it!

Not for me. Another watch that will be hot for a moment and then you will not be able to move it for close to what you have in it.

I say kudos to Panerai for introducing a silver dial. Tried doing some research and I believe this is the first true silver dial (I can be mistaken though :)) It'll be interesting to see what iterations of this silver dial come down the road.

Panerai used to have charcoal dial older model like 86 and 89 but not pure silver like these...

I've said this before and I'll say it again; we buy Panerai for the love of the brand and their seriously cool watches. Two things have been really getting on my tits of late. Firstly, it's the Panerai bashers. If you don't like the brand, then take your cash (and incessant whining and dooming) elsewhere. Secondly, it's the carpet-bombing of the general forum with 'how much is my XXXX going to be worth in five years if I buy one?', 'which of these watches is the best investment?', etc. You get the picture. Hobbies are supposed to be about enjoying an interest and if you can do that with other people of a like mind then so much the better. You buy watches with your heart, especially Panerai.

Oyea, forgot the sealand since I’ve never seen them being opened like that lol
When I started with Panerai,I thought sealand are just engraved case with no watch movement inside.... |

I did like the look of this in pre-SIHH renders but the flesh I found it a bit underwhelming. I had a platinum/steel Yacht-Master for many years but ultimately had to confess that it was too monotone. The same applies here IMO.

I can see where you're coming from here but if you have a couple of PAMs in your collection, then this would be great addition (with the black Teju) just to switch things up a bit. I have black-ish, blue and green dials so this would fit with me. If I were buying, of course
