Is there a website out there for selling whiskey? I’ve got a rare brand new bottle that I bought a few of and didn’t enjoy as much as I’d thought that I’d love to sell

Just restocked on Blantons as well, always a must have in the collection for me.

I also came across Little Book Chapter 3 at MSRP, snagged that one in a hurry but have yet to try it. I’ve tried chapter 4 and enjoyed it, but I hear chapter 3 is the one to have.

I wish I could find Blanton's here in MN. Honestly, it's incredibly frustrating how impossible it is to find. The good news is I read that Buffalo Trace is increasing the production to try to satisfy demand, but the bad news is of course we have to wait for those barrels to age and then be bottled.

Curious, what is the consensus on duration a bottle can be stored after opening? I imagine that of course drinking sooner is better, but also would not expect 80+ proof drinks to decay in profile too substantially even after several years assuming proper storage out of sunlight in a cool dark space. I certainly have some of my better bottles of bourbon and tequila kept for a long time.

Not sure but my wife's uncle has an unopened bottle of bottled in bond bourbon from 1936 on his shelf. I don't remember the brand but it still has the original tax stamp tape across the top of the bottle cork. He got it from a client as part of a bartering deal for some services. Surprisingly virtually no liquid has evaporated and the cork is in excellent condition.

I'm dying to know how it tastes today!

Fantastic scotch, although I didn’t know they did a triple cask version - going to order a bottle!

Impressive! Would be such a treat to try that. Since bourbon does not age once it’s bottled, I guess as long as it was bottled correctly in an air tight fashion and kept away from heat/sun, I imagine it must taste very close to it’s original flavor.

Once opening, then the oxygen starts causing problems, in theory. My assumption has always been the rate of influence by oxygen is probably slower than I’d notice over the course of a few years (like 3-5 year range), but maybe over 20+ years there would be some effect noticeable. I have a bottle of Patron Piedra and Patron says it should taste like new for at least 4 years once opened. I do prefer variety, so prefer to have several bottles in rotation over a long period. With bourbon being usually over 80 proof, I think as long as it’s stored correctly, an opened bourbon will not change by any discernible degree for at least 5 years but longer storage once opened is certainly not harmful. Curious to hear what others here think/do with their open bottles.

The reviews are good for the Scorch, lll open it when I get the second bottle in paws! I grab that Nikka whenever I see it for less than $80.

A good friend from Cleveland stopped by yesterday with bottles of Weller Antique, Weller Special Reserve, & Buffalo Trace. Always nice to restock reserves.

The Nikka from the barrel goes for $80 over there?!
It's €32,50 here, pretty good value. Wouldn't spend more than €40 on it myself.

That’s awesome. The batch 14 I got (also haven’t tried yet) was marked up a bit but I’m happy anyways. Have only seen Stagg Jr once prior on shelves and it was gone the next day.
