Anyone collect putters?

I started collecting putters, mostly Cameron's, about 10 years ago long before my obsession with watches took over. Most of these have been moved on but I've had some really cool putters come though my hands over the years.

I know I recognize some usernames here that are also on TCC.

Share some pics of your collection

Damn, that's a lot of putters! How do you come across so my tour Camerons? My brother has old 2000 Newport Tour circle T stamped and his initials that Greg Kraft had made for him, it's pretty cool.

I spent a LOT of time meeting other collectors and searching classifieds on various forums. Was a fun couple years, wish I still had a few of them.

Would love to see some pics of your brothers putter

The original tei3 and oil can Sante Fe's were some of his best OTR putter IMO.

I have the Santa Fe oil can, but can't tell you how much I wanted the Santa Fe teryllium original. Those white dots on black putter looked so good to the eye. The oil can though is very unique too (and a little tough to upkeep if you play in the rain lol). Pro Platinum Newport Mid-Slant for me nowadays. I'd jump on a remake of the Santa Fe though. Scotty's putters have gotten pretty boring the last 10 years or so. At least his retail putters. Used to be so much more diversity in the releases imo. I do like the design of the Fastback 1.5 a lot though.

I do not collect. Having said that I use a Scotty to play and the only other putter I have was given to me by my Dad and from what a por told me is it is the first Karsten Anser putters worth a fair bit, relative of course. I found this out one day as I was using the putter and a guy came up to me and offered me a good amount for it (it was a while ago but it was several thousand). I told him it was from my Dad (RIP) and told him it wasn't for sale. That's when I figured I ought to not beat it up any more than it was and bought a Scotty to play with. I haven't really done any extensive research as I don't really care as it will never be for sale.

I used to collect Bettinardi tour putters back in the mid 2000s. Of about a dozen of them, I only have one left in my bag.

Yes.. Was really into Scotty's years ago an TCC, but have slowed down. Thinking about sell all the covers and swag... Could easily buy a SS Daytona with proceeds!

Agree, the OTR's are not my style these days. I much prefer the older newport style putters with the oil can finish.

I still have this 009 oil can that i use all the time. Starting to rust but I think it adds a lit of character to the putter.

I've actually never owned a Bettinardi. I've came close a lot of times but just never pulled the trigger on one.

I have about 10 or so Cameron’s, but no pictures. My earliest one is from around 95/96....the original Newport oil can. It’s pretty rusty at this point.

Agreed, maybe dare I say is best work (besides the Newport imo). I do like his mid-mallets too.

Your oil can is looking really good actually. No joke my Pro Platinum has more rust. Though I did use that in competition for years and I think the biggest culprit besides the obvious playing in the rain, was fertilizer used on the greens. Could always send it in to the SC shop for a refinish I guess if I wanted.

Btw do you own any Oil Can Vokey Wedges? Love those and don't feel the "guilty" when it rusts, just the beautiful patina.

What is this TCC I’m hearing of?

As for putters, I own a SC, but have been more into SWAG lately. I have been rolling one of their Proto’s really well (for me).

Cheers Eric, ever since this thread I've been lusting over a circle T putter. Slim pickings in the UK though.

When your golf buddies know what you paid for it, do they roll about laughing every time you miss a putt? I know mine would, it would certainly put me off my stroke, although I doubt it could make it much worse :)

Beautiful pudders btw
