Thanks for the input. I thought the glidelock solves everything. But probably I will take out another (half)link as something does not feel right.
And yes, I am pretty sure the 5 digit will stay |

I removed another link. Think it wears now better. Or I am getting used to it ;)

From the pictures, you don't appear to be a smaller framed gentleman. The watch certainly doesn't look large on you. If your personal preference is a smaller watch, that's great, go for that. But you certainly can wear the larger watch - in fact it could be bigger and still not be an issue in terms of how it looks on your wrist.

IMO, the 124060 looks much better on your wrist. If everything is original on the 14060, keep both if possible.

Update: having worn it now for some weeks I like the 124060 better than in the beginning. It’s a watch with a big wrist presence and my other watches are more comfortable to wear.
Really enjoy the AR coating and the ceramic bezel, also the glidelock is in daily use. Not decided yet, will keep both for now |

Doesn't fit
If it is not comfortable then what is the point?

I am going to say something that seems to go against the conventional thinking. But I think the 6 digit (esp 12 series) is more comfortable than the 5 digits.
So right now I have a 16710 and a 126710. I have never had a 5 and 6 digit Sub at the same time, but have owned a 16610 and 126610 in the past at separate times. For both models, I've come to the same conclusion. The 6 digits are MORE comfortable. The 5-digits definitely have their own charm and pluses, I do like how they look/wear a bit smaller and better balanced. But the 6 digit bracelets are so much better, and they help center the watch better on my wrist, even with the bigger cases. |

I think that you, quite possibly, answered your own question with...
After the honeymoon phase with a new watch is over (whether a few months or a year), it's rare to be able to say "perfect watch for my wrist." I've bought and sold many, many watches that I thought I wanted...but weren't perfect for my wrist. I'd say keep 'perfection' whenever you find it in a watch. Once upon a time I didn't...then I had to buy the same watch back for an additional $7,500. It's the only watch I've ever repurchased...and it was also a 14060m. Should've kept the one I purchased 20 years ago. |

Update: I only wear the 124060 and my Daytona. Have no desire to wear the 14060M, and if I try it on it feels super small. Also the build of the 124060 is so good, see no reason why to choose the other one. Seriously think about selling the old one..

These mean it fails at its core role of being a watch for you. No stats can make up for that.
I will never understand why Rolex didn't simply use the SDc4000 case when they were correcting the SubC mistake. It was perfect. |

I must correct myself after some months. I removed one link and wear it now a little bit tighter. Cannot complain anymore. But it’s definitely no Daytona, where you forget that you even wear a watch.

Coming from a 5 digit vintage piece, I prefer the aesthetics of the latest models.
Voted 124060, and looks great on your wrist! Have you tried wearing it a little loose? Besides, it will be more bulletproof down the road... |

I would say most uncomfortable feeling of wearing the 124060 is from the incorrect adjustment of bracelet.
At the dealer when I got the watch I had them adjust to have 3 links at 6 o’clock and 4 and half at 12 o’clock. Wearing for a couple of days I decided it’s just wrong. So I add back one link to 6 o’clock and took out the half link from 12 o’clock, and tighten the glide lock one notch. Now it’s right so the clasp and watch face sit dead centre at where they are supposed to be Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The 14060M is the one Sub to keep forever. Well, and the 5513.

Almost in the middle. I counted it’s currently at the 4th notch from the tightest position. I think there are totally 7 notches (someone correct me if I’m wrong) One way to measure the position of the glide lock is to visually look at the screw of the end link. The end link screw is different because the end link has close end at one side, so that the crew is tad shorter than a normal screw. My current comfortable position of glide lock is that the endlink’s screw head is barely covered by the clasp. One notch looser will make the screw head visible, and one notch tighter will make half of the normal link covered by clasp. I suggest to adjust the links so that the glide lock ‘S position makes end link’s screw head just covered, no more and no less. That’s my comfort zone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd say you keep both of them.

On this side by side picture the 14060m looks so much better! Perfect proportions and refine design. The 124060 looks much less classy and the case is super bulky. Really depends on whether you favor the case design and proportions vs build quality with improved bracelet clasp and ceramic bezel

To close this thread: since I added the 124060 to my collection I have not worn the 14060M anymore. The few times I put it on I was missing the 124060.
Hence, I sold the 14060M some weeks ago. I am not missing it one bit. Of course everything is very subjective, but for me the 124060 is so much better in quality. |

You made the right choice without question. It looks far better on you and it’s a much better watch despite the other camp who will always cling to their first love.
