Datejust 41 vs 36
I'm currently considering Datejust, and want to get some advice from TRF members. If anyone owns DJ, could you please share your thoughts and how did you make decision?
1. Which size (41 or 36) did you choose and why? + Could you please let me know wrist size? 2. Which bracelet (Oyster or Jubilee) did you choose and why? If anyone can share experience with me, I would very appreciate it. |

I chose 41 and my wrist size is 7". I think the 41 is actually 39.5mm when measured so Its not really 41mm like the DJII.

1. DJ41, my wrist is about 7,5. I think 36 just looks too small...
2. Oyster (I prefer the smooth bezel and I think oyster goes nicely with it) |

36mm 6.75" wrist because the crown and bracelet look properly proportioned in 36mm and feel most comfortable and discreet on the wrist in 36mm. 2. Which bracelet (Oyster or Jubilee) did you choose and why? Oyster with smooth bezel because it dresses down better than the jubilee. |

I had the same issue, trying to decide between a 41 and 36.
In the end I picked the 36, classical proportions, the slim lugs and the new jubliee all went together perfectly. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk |

7.5" wrist and I prefer a 41mm. I have a vintage 36mm and it wears too small for me. I really prefer blue sticks with a smooth bezel on a jubilee. Wimbledon dial looks nice too.

Dude, it's all going to be about preference. Regardless of wrist size, you should choose the watch that sings to you more. You're going to get all types of opinions from people. Don't let us influence your decision.
Asking for people's opinions tells me you're not ready to buy either watch. Wait until it makes sense for you, then the choice will become obvious. Just my two cents. |

I wore a DJ36 with hidden clasp for many years. When the DJ41 came out in 2016 I was impressed by the larger size and the easylink clasp. My wrist size is 6.75" and I think I'm probably maxed out with this size of watch but would not go back to a 36.

7 wrist. I went with a 41. You can go either way. I regret not trying on a few 36s too.
It also depends on fluted/smooth dial colour too. A smooth 41 white or silver may look pretty cavernous compared to a rhodium fluted. No right or wrong answer on fluted/smooth/jubilee/oyster. Get the combo that sings to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

7 inches. 41. Fits my wrist well. Looks/feels more substantial to me than the 36. The dial is bigger and allows the cyclops to breath more. Also think trends continue for men 39/40 and up. Fluted with jubilee for me - really pops and is the classic look. Plus I have a 114060 with the oyster. Blue dial is truly amazing.

7” and larger wrist look good with 41
6.75 and smaller look better with 36. That just me. Classic DJ is jubilee and fluted. Sportier oyster and smooth. |

If your wrist is over 7 inch...DJ41. Otherwise, Id day 36mm.
My wrist is little under 7 inch and 36mm felt always comfier for me. I chose oyster bracelet and smooth bezel most times. (Had a few DJs) Why?! Its not as blingy as the jubilee (which I also like, but for every day watch I prefer the “sportier” osyter).

Datejust 41 vs 36
Wanted this dial so could only do the DJ41. I also had two heirloom 16013s so wanted something different. My wrist is 6.75. Edit: the modern jubilee bracelet is my favorite and most comfortable of the current production bracelets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

In case still helpful for you or others reading, I have a little under 6.5" wrist and the 36 felt right. Also went for oyster bracelet + fluted bezel as I think it's a best of both worlds - sportier bracelet feel but still get the great looking bezel.

7 inch wrist. I have DJ36. Dome, oyster, black dial. The latest version. This is a great everyday watch. And honestly, it's the watch I tend to wear as my daily. Easy to wear. Relatively low key, stealthy (for a Rolex). Functional. Looks great, perfectly proportioned and balanced.
But I'm also waiting on a DJ41 blue. Smooth bezel. I'm leaning toward jubilee, but told my AD I'd be cool with oyster as well. Sorry...probably doesn't help. Good luck either way. |

41. I always thought it'd be a 36, but as soon as I got it on my hand I knew it was too small for me. 41 is only 39.5 so it is perfect for my 7.5 in wrists.
I went or Jubilee as it is more comfortable. |

My wrist is 7.25". I don't have a DJ but I do have a DD. I chose 36mm because I prefer smaller more traditionally sized watches.

Nothing wrong with a 36 mm DJ but I prefer the 41 mm. I have a 7 inch wrist and it fits me better. You have to go jubilee with the DJ.

36mm is the classic size and sleek. Personally i think it looks best with a suit so your watch can fit under the cuff.

I chose both!! 41mm first with the Wimbledon dial just because its so unique and the green numerals really pop against the dial color. Followed this recently with the DJ36 simply because I was so taken with the blue dial with fluted bezel and jubilee dial combo. My wrist is only 6.5 but I wear both comfortably.

Oyster, smooth, 36. I got a black dial 126200, I think this is perfect as a 1 watch or daily wearer. If part of a collection Id go blue oyster smooth or silver jub fluted though.
My wrist is 6.5 inches. Regardless of wrist size I think the 36 has better proportions. I would go 41 only if very large wrists. |
