Wow that new DD is gorgeous! Not sure I like the new SD however........12,900m though, christ. Think that's a bit overkill considering that the deepest point in the ocean is 10,924 meters (Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench). Think this has Bugatti Veyron syndrome...i.e. we did it to prove we could do it although has very little real use!

Love the new Maxi dial on the SD, as for the extra writting on the dial not to sure on that yet.
Wonder if they will keep both SD's |

Ah seems from the above photo that the previous posts were wrong. 3,900m makes more sense! Can go 33 times deeper than my sub though which is very impressive!

I hear you... I second that notion... But who knows... the official day is still tomorrow... so maybe Rolex has another (hidden) trump card in their sleeve...??!!

Looking at the shadow on the 30, seems to be. It doesn't have the presence of the engraced numbers on the GMT's bezel, though.

they look like ceramic dials.
Either way I think they ruined 2 already perfect pieces. The dials on both the Sub and Sd look to busy for me. The "classiness" of the blue sub is gone imho. I'll stick with what I got....there could be more however Basel is only tommorw. I'm sure there are a still a few too come. Anyways I hope so. |

No, but it does have the "Original Gas Escape Valve" and the "Ring Lock System"... I know, I'm good ain't I... I wish Rolex would quit patting their own back.

As for the models themselves... well, my first thoughts were exactly like your's... Nothing did really "click" to me this time... Certainly not like last year, when I first saw the first pic of the SS GMTIIc I was hooked. But then, looking at the "perfected" pictures by Overkill, the Blue Sub has started to... talk to me... Oh I don't know... we'll need more pictures... But the Blue Sub is already working my brain... (please make it stoooooooooooooooooooooooooop!!! )

I'd like to take a closer look at the SDDS' crystal - the design is noticably different from Rolex's other crystals. The bevel of the rehaut is at a much shallower angle, and it doesn't seem to have much of a flat egde along the rim, although the latter may just be due to a lack of refraction from the crystal's being almost flush with the bezel.

Wonder if the DD has a larger case or its just the picture?
Too bad it looks like they still have same clasp on the Subs, you would think they would update that a bit no? |

Dare I say it but there seem's to be a huge lack of innovation at Rolex HQ! The new watches posted so far in this thread are not exciting IMO and it looks like they have just beefed up the appearence of the Sub and SD....
Very dissapointing! |

Yes, they are, you're right...
but 40mm or not... to my eyes & taste, they are utterly ugly!

I just noticed the 'DEEPSEA' designation on the Sea-Dweller dial.
Interesting, I guess this is going to be the DSSDC for short.
