Contacted Caran D'Ache about an 849 fountain pen

I was really interested in an 849 goldbar fountain pen but it doesn't look like they have any plans to make one just yet. I have an 849 goldbar ballpoint but I would kill for a fountain pen version! Maybe I should make one? Possibly pick up an 849 fountain pen, grit blast it, then gold plate. Doesn't seem to be rocket science. I'm tempted.........
