Both dials are awesome. I went in to the VC boutique initially excited to check out the blue dial and came away preferring the black dial. The blue dial is really nice, has a ton of character and life, and is unique but as others mentioned above I didn't love the blue straps. The black is great because that high polish bezel can go from silver to black depending on the lighting so the bezel and black dial seem more integrated. Also, as traditional as it may be, there actually aren't a lot of similar luxury sports watches with deep gloss black dial options. AP RO is going to be textured tapisserie, Patek Nautilus is going to be the striped dial, the BP dials are gloss black but have a hint of sunburst to them. If it were me, I think I would wear the black dial more so that is what I would choose in 3 hand or reverse panda chrono. No bad choices though either way, good luck!

Thanks for everyone’s input. Placed my order today for..........

black!

Will be a few weeks before I have it but I’m super excited. I did factor in all the feedback and in the end the black was the one that kept drawing me back and calling my name.

I will of course post pics when it arrives!

Were you able to get a discount on the watch? Curious because I just went to an authorized dealer this week and they laughed at discounting the watch one penny and said they just ordered 3 of the blue dials for their customers and every one paid full retail.

I was actually surprised by this as well. I inquired about one a couple months ago to an AD I have a great relationship, and was told I could only get a small discount
But good for VC, it just means the Gen3 is a hit and selling well (the long PP, AP and Rolex sport watch waitlists probably helps).

I’m happy with the deal I got but I’m reserving judgment until the watch is in my hands. I’ve worked with this seller before and it’s been good but I’ve never ordered one - just purchased from stock they had.

Please post pictures when you receive the piece!

I’m stuck between the blue and black dial too. I wasn’t aware the brown dial was discontinued. Now viewing pictures of the brown dial it does have the same depth and color altering properties the blue dial has in different lighting scenarios.

I wish there were an AD local to me but it seems I’ll need to head to Chicago for my closest AD.

Maybe when I’m visiting family in a few weeks I can stop by the AD to check them out in person.

Our local AD gives a discount on both black and blue.

Congrats.

The blue certainly has an electric quality!

I've heard that this Gen3 Overseas is especially popular in Asian countries right now. There are long waiting lists there.

I guess Vacheron is doing well.

Congrats on your choice! Mine says hi. I find myself wearing the rubber strap 75% of the time, steel bracelet 20%, alligator strap 5%. It’s such a beautiful, versatile, under the radar watch.

That's a beautiful watch!!

(But it was not quite "under-the-radar" even in Black, because of its beautiful, distinctive case design.)

Thanks! Under-the-radar in the sense that nobody knows what it is relative to my other watches :)

I’m jumping onto this thread a little bit late but you know you can buy different straps, right? The VC boutique in Miami actually offered to give me black straps for my blue instead of the blue straps. In the end I bought Additional’s. I have the bracelet, the blue rubber, the black rubber, the brown rubber and the blue alligator. I have not gotten any of the other alligator is as I almost never wear them.

Congrats on any that you like and purchase. It’s an absolutely amazing watch.

Here’s my blue on the black rubber.

Your pic has me thinking about grabbing a similar VC in the near future ...
Beautiful watch!

I echo that there is long waiting list for the stainless steel ones in South East Asia. The ones that are available are the gold ones. Looks like Overseas is fast catching up. Hope this trajectory continues.

Yeah the original estimate I was given was 4-5 weeks but that's now getting pushed out by a few weeks. I whined about it a bit haha, but either way it should be worth the wait.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Blue vs Black?

Incoming......mine has arrived.
And loving it so far. It really is a thing of beauty.
Have used the bracelet and rubber so far.

And for those wondering about the screwdriver required for the bracelet. 1.4 hollow ground is the one.

You need a screw driver for the bracelet? I thought quick change.

Or screw driver for the links/resizing?

Screwdriver is only required for links/sizing
