Steel code

Did anyone see them in person? Considering getting one but don't know if the quality and price difference from grey precious metal ones is worth paying retail for the steel.

I have NOT SEEN ONE, but I do think that you have to see and handle any Code before purchase...They are actually quite amazing and I DO own a PM ceramic chrono. I love it and wear more often than my SS RO

One consideration is whether you’re trying to ‘build a relationship’ with the boutique for the purpose of future allocations. Otherwise, the heft and associated relative quality of a PM Code can’t be matched by the steel Codes. The WG chrono with ceramic center is what I have too, which also gets a lot more regular wear than my RO, and which I appreciate the feel on the wrist (without it being top heavy). Still, it ultimately comes down to you at least trying on the steel knowing that a PM will be more substantial than that.

I don’t have a Code, but I love the Code line up.

I haven’t seen the steel ones in person, but I’m sure I would drool for one. Earlier this year, when my SA said my next piece should be a jumbo (which came to fruition), I asked about the possibility of a steel code. She said ‘ugh tough’. It is still unclear to me how difficult (comparatively; obviously everything is tough with AP) it’ll be to get a steel code.

Has anyone spoken to their SAs about the steel codes availability?

I asked for the green CODE chronograph. Was told allocation this year wasn’t possible. Will see next year how it goes.

They are nice in person, like all Codes, but I like the precious metal fume dials better. To each his own.

I have heard that the steel Codes are in high demand.
Some of the people here have been able to see the exhibition pieces.

I personally asked for a Starwheel and was told it will be very difficult this year (polite No), despite having a Code.

Me too, I also got the impression that if I'd asked for a steel model it would not be easy this year. A little disappointed by the Starwheel news, but to be expected I suppose. Not too disappointed by the steel news as I like mine and think there is even more good stuff coming for the Code line. Excited to see what's ahead.
