While I'm not impressed by the MoonSwatch "Moonshine" [Limited] Edition, there's no denying that the MoonSwatch was a brillant move by the Swatch Group.
I don't really see it as damaging to Omega's Rep - on the contrary, it produces more interest in the Moonwatch and its history.

Twenty-five years ago, when Swatches were all I could really afford, I would have gone nuts over the MoonSwatch

The MoonSwatch really focuses demand on the real one.

While I have always planned on getting one, it is definitely moving up on my list...if I don't get the call for the Batman by next month, it is likely I will pull the trigger on the sapphire sandwich...

In the meantime, the search for Mercury and Neptune continues...
