Lume quality on Swatch Moonwatch

Hi all, I have a swatch Moonwatch which I bought from a boutique here in PA. To those who have one have you notice the quality of the lume on yours. I shined my iPhone flashlight on it for a few minutes and then went to the dark and noticed not all lume areas shining out. I would like to hear of your observations with your swatch Moonwatch.

It quite difficult to get all the lume plots equally charged using the phone. Try to direct the phone light to the lume plots that are not bright and see if they charge, if not then it might be a defect, but I doubt it.

Weird IMO. I would think that should be more than enough to charge the lume

We’re you shining it evenly over all the plots?

Yes, it apparently does. But you cannot imagine some folks expecting lumes like that of a >5000 usd Moonwatch. I sold a Swatch Moonwatch and this customer complained about the general poor lume. I said not to expect too much - it sells for $260 and so how much do you think it costs Swatch to actually make it. Must be peanuts and Swatch is putting them out really to market the Omega brand (QA is not a prio), so do not expect 5000 usd bells and whistles in 260 usd watch. My 2 cents.

Which one do you have? Seems like the lume is better on the models with white indices.

Did you get it at King of Prussia? I attempted to late last year but no luck.

Wow. Thank you for this catch. You are indeed correct - the one I sold is the Pluto. In fact, now looking at the website, not only it is the only one which has dark indices and the only one where the description does not mention superluminova.
I do have other Moonswatches in my possession but as I mention the superluminova is still rather unevenly applied.
Yes, I visit the KOP store at times lately and they have the usual ones but Moon, Mercury, and at time earth or Neptune are more rarely available. SA says these particular models sell out as soon as the stock comes in.

Did you buy it from a Swatch store, and if not are you 100% certain it’s real. There are fakes that are very good, right down to boxes, packing materials and Swatch store bags.

I thought that might be the case. The Pluto indices are lumed. But since they are painted dark, the lume is very weak. The hands are also lumed like all the others. The subdials are not.

Everything from Swatch boutiques. Got most from King of Prussia PA store and more recently (Moon and Mercury, no Neptune) from a couple of bouqtiues we came across with during our European vacation.

The lume is terrible for these even if the watch has been exposed to sun for several hours.

I sent an inquiry to Swatch about Pluto and they confirm the total lack of lume on this specific model. Very obvious given the black indices and hands.

Trust me, the Pluto is in fact lumed. Here is mine after a couple minutes in direct sun. The phone brightens up the image, so don't expect it to lume this bright. But the hands and indices are definitely lumed.

They have lume? LOL

I have Mission to Mars. In fact it would glow right after sunlight into the dark room. But otherwise, I never really notice the lume. :D

Great watch though, love it.

Can't argue with this - the quality and brightness of the lume is pretty awful.
