if you are a traveller, go for the GMT-IIc. for non-traveller, get the Sub-c.

I love the 16610 casing and the brushed bracelets, regardless of the fact that it's going to stretch like what others mentioned !

For me, the Sub is what got my attention and introduced me to Rolex. The GMTIIC is what got me to buy a Rolex. Both are great watches and I think that the Sub is the "quintessential" Rolex if there ever was one but I find the GMT function more inline with my needs.

As many have stated, they're both great choices.

I do not own a GMT, but is on the list so either would make a fine choice.

Go for the sub if you have no use for the GMT function.

I bought the Gmt2 first and then the SubC. I can't say one is better than the other so you can't really make the wrong choice.

I went through the same dilemma and ultimately went for the GMT
Sounds wierd, but there is something about the quietly rotating green 24hr hand which I find soothing and I like the additional "complication" of the quickest hour hand.

As others have noted, the scratches on the PCLs are annoying, but any watch will scratch if used as a daily wearer

Good luck with your decision - both are solid

I went with the GMT II with ceramic bezel on stainless and absolutely love it. But as many others have said, you can't go wrong with either.

Cheers,

Had the same dilemma but ended up with the Sub. Though I travel quite a bit, for a first Rolex, I had to go with the most iconic.

Feel the weight on the Sub C.. Would say that it is more solid than the GMT..

I will say that SubC for your first watch.

That said, I have not been able to pry my GMTIIC from my wrist since the beginning of the week. The Sub and all the rest of my Rolexes are in the drawer, sleeping.

It depends on what you want. I'd go for the GMT II as I see mostly Subs when I'm out.

I love them both but I am a GMT guy more than Sub. Both look excellent and have the handsome Rolex look but why not gain a feature?

I bought the GMT2c. The sub will ride higher due to the thicker case and it did feel less comfy and heavier. Sub will have a better chance of getting your money back. At the end if you are investing then put your money in the bank. If not, then buy what you like.
It's a loss to buy a watch at the end of the day. Remember that you will spend 600$ every 5-7 yrs to "maintain" that succer!

I'm struggling with this same dilemma. Sub wins for me with bezel function, brushed center links, and clasp. The GMT has the better movement and complication, but the PCLs are a bit of a turn off because I want a more relaxed feel if I go SS.
