Icon2 Incoming Green

I put my deposit down last week and picked it up today

I sort of knew it was my destiny to get one of these since Baselworld, having been lucky enough to visit remote Yakushima - the island that supposedly inspired this limited edition SLA019 "Deep Forest" diver - on a media tour ten years ago.

The green really is deep, too, and quite hard to get on camera. Just a few pics for now, and probably a fuller review later

Some shots on the silicone strap . . .

That is a real beauty Adam, honestly

What is the size of this reference?

Edit: it’s a shame we don’t have as many options for Seiko here in my area.

Thanks guys. According to my digital caliper it's 44mm wide and 15.5mm high. it wears smaller though, more like a Black Bay. My wife even had a go with it on her 5.5-inch wrist and just about got away with it.

Wow Adam, that is stunning. I have owned a green sub and never wore it, I actually hated the green. The Seiko pulls it off much better, it looks perfect. Green is my favorite color and love a little dash of it on a watch. Rolex is way to green, Seiko did it right.

Huge congrats!

Thanks Trevor. It's darker than I expected, quite subtle really, and I think you're right that it's a good thing

Thanks Paulie, I appreciate it. I was quite lucky to get this one ordered and deposit paid when I did. Just wandered in to the store on the offchance and someone had cancelled. Or so they said. I've never commited to buy a watch without trying on before, but figured I wouldn't lose much on this if I didn't like it.

Looks great. The higher end of Seiko's prospex line is giving the Swiss a run for their money

Congrats! I'm glad to see another member on the forum enjoying this watch just as much as I am.

Also, what number out of the 1968 did you get if you don't mind me asking?

That is phenomenal. I’ve never seen that shade of green on a watch.

Thanks. I got a late one: 15xx. How about you?

Me neither. It's like British Racing Green but a couple of shades darker. Every now and then the dial will throw out a lighter green sunburst.
