The texture on blizzard dials are amazing. I'm not sure how I feel about the mirror finish look on the chapter ring of this watch though. Also not a fan of the opaque printing on the caseback... Why have a see through caseback if you're going to print over it?

I tried it on over the weekend and it is a beauty. I am glad that Dan went with stainless steel versus the titanium. It gives it a nice weight. All in all it is a great looking watch. Pictures don't do it justice.

I photographed the prototype about 8 months ago, but I was sworn to secrecy until last weekend, when it was announced.
Timeless wanted to have some photos ready to go, and GS agreed to let me have it for one day. I think it was last September.

There's a lot to like about this watch. The closer you get in pictures, the better it looks.

Thank you, very much.

Probably because I haven’t checked my inbox in about two years.
I don’t post much those days.

What I was wondering is how did you like the watch itself?

I know you have handled a few GS, so I value your opinion on this one.

I like the watch, quite a bit. My only gripe with it is the distance between the sapphire crystal and the dial.
This is just me, I like a crystal that is close to the dial plate itself, and all spring drive GMTs have a deep dish dial.
If that’s not an issue for you, the watch is spectacular, and I really like the hollow GMT pointer.
The blizzard dial is very reminiscent of a YM 116622, but rougher. And not in a bad way. The execution is spot on.

Many thanks for the hands-on comments.

For the crystal/dial distance, I thought it was a design choice in order to incorporate the GMT chapter ring? I think I prefer this solution to having the numbers on the bezel or on the dial itself (but then needing to reduce the size of the hands).

Anyway, from what you’re saying, looks like I would be happy with this one.

I agree with you on why it’s a deep dish. They clearly know how to make the hand stack shorter, so the placement of the GMT ring is likely why this is a bit deeper.

Still thinking about this one..... here’s a recent IG pic posted of it. Apparently, only a few of the 250 left.

Pictures don’t do it justice. I tried it on at the Timeless GS event and it’s a stunner. I love that they used stainless steel for both the weight and the special shine that GS is able to pull off with their polishing. It also looked incredible on the tan/brown leather strap that Timeless is carrying for the GS line. I wouldn’t hesitate to grab one.

That’s a great looking GS! If I didn’t already have a 211, I’d go for it!

Cru, you need to just get it. I have one coming and I’m really excited about it. It’s the last watch that I’ll get for awhile...and I’m without a GMT at the moment, so I’m pumped.

Those fitted straps look phenomenal! Who makes them (they don’t look like GS OEM)?

They are made by Mugatoo specifically for Grand Seiko watches. Timeless will be carrying them, but I can’t remember if Dan told me if it was an exclusive partnership or not.

This came a year too late for me. I was on the fence for 2 years about the 211 because of the weight and the slight grey tone of titanium. Finally pulled the trigger last year just about this time. I don’t know how many times I made the comment to the SA that if this was in stainless steel it would have been a no brainer for me. This one even has a GMT complication which I like. Only if they kept the snowflake dial, a slimmer case and do away that silly logo print over the sapphire case back it would be absolutely perfect.
