I have been looking very seriously at getting a Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich 006 and I am sure I will some day, but in doing my looking I became interested in the Constellation Globemaster Annual Calendar. what are folks thoughts on the series and the movement. This wold be my first Omega.

It is a little boring for me in person, Seamaster 300M is a much more exciting watch. First Omega I would suggest Speedmaster or Seamaster, if you like dressier then the new Tresor.

I had one for 2 years and sold it. I simply could not warm to it.

I didnt like the thickness, the proportions of the dial, the bracelet and the very austere look. It's a watch that pretends to be a dress watch, but isn't.

Although I'm only basing my opinion from the Omega website the available options don't really do it for me. While I have no doubt the watches will look better in the metal and the finish and movement will be top-notch there is nothing that really piques my interest.

It's okay, and I'm a fan of an annual calendar complication. As others here mention, I feel like Omega could have done better with the proportions of the case and, for me, the relationship between the lengths of the hands and the placement of the indices on the dial.

Your point about the hands / indices is spot on. It's something that really bothered me.

Dunno about the hands, but for me there's too much empty dial, so I think the indices should be longer so as to "fill" this void.
