Is this fake?
So I'm about to buy my first ever Rolex watch and it's this watch, but from a different place and I've asked for some additional photos of the watch, but until I actually buy it or get the photos of "my" watch I found this one as a reference: https://www.watchclub.com/rolex/date...gqIoJdU325oNMQ
After looking around I thought of two things: 1) "Rolex" is not engraved on the rehaut, and that's something that Rolex started doing around 2005. This watch is said to be from 2006, but lacks the engraving and my specimen of the watch is from 2005, so it might also lack it. Should I be worried about this or should all watches made in -05 have it? Is the one I linked likely fake then? See this watch for example, it's also from 2006 but it HAS engravings: https://www.1stdibs.com/jewelry/watc.../id-j_6917982/ 2) What movement should be in the watch? On the watch in the first link, it says calibre 3235, which I'm pretty sure wasn't in that watch, or am I wrong? On mine it says 3135, which seems correct according to my research? |

Doesn't look like a fake. My 2007 bluesy does not have rehaut engraved.

I've never seen that dial but it has the appearance of a Rolex factory dial. I'd suggest making sure the line under the coronet on the crown is accurate for a TT. There are lines, dots, that signify the material of the watch. I thought a line like is here signified a solid gold watch, not TT. If that checks out then you're probably good to go.

A dial like that may sit in a display case for some time back then. The watch was probably manufactured before the engraved rehaut became a thing. You watch will have a serial number, a watch manufactured around 2006 would have a Z serial. What is your serial number?
Please put up a pic of your watch and we will authenticate the watch in the pictures for you. Always remember, buy the seller. |

No, it is not the size of the crown. It designates the newer monobloc crowns, rather than the wrapped steel crown construction.

What I mean is, if it was a more generic dial it would sell quicker. Some more extravagant or less popular dialed watches take longer to sell, so it could have been in the AD for a year or more before it sold, for example, manufactured in 2006 with a Z serial but not sold until 2008, warranty gets dated 2008 causing confusion - where is my rehaut engraving that was introduced in 2007 etc.
