I’ve decided it’s time to get a 16570, before they hit £10K.

What do you think about this one? The case back looks a bit worse for wear or could just be the lighting. One of the pins looks like it’s possibly protruding from the lugs, but otherwise in good shape.

I think it is about £1000 overpriced.

Go for this one. It a late M serial with 3186 caliber and solid end links.

You should find a NOS or "like new, unpolished" watch to compare against the watch you're looking to buy. (then you won't have to ask us, you'll be the expert!) Look at as many watches as you can - there are a lot out there for sale. Then have patience until you find one to your liking and budget. You'll pay more as the condition of the watch improves. Good luck!

This is a typical seller on eBay thinking that they’ll get the same asking price as Watchfinder (rip off prices)

How come some dials are marked ‘Swiss Made’ and others, like this one from 2006, are just marked ‘Swiss’?

Transition between luminova and T<25. It’s old. Don’t pay that price.

Marc at M&J watches had a beauty on his Instagram page in the last week so maybe try contacting him as it hasn't made it to the website yet. He's a very good seller.

Also, Ukvintagewatches has had some nice ones recently at reasonable prices. He's also very good to speak to.

He has the date wrong. Swiss Only was 1999-2000, unless the watch sat in an AD safe for a few years.

I would say it's more polished that I'd like, and more expensive than I'd expect.

Even for the 40mm, I think now is not the time to be buying an Explorer 2. Prices have super heated in the run up to and wake of the new release. My 11 series Sub Date spiked by 20% when the 12 series launched last year, before falling back again. I would leave it alone for three months.

I think that time was about 5 years ago when they were readily available for about $3,000.
Great watch, and I will keep mine, but it has really gotten foolish.
