IWC X Hot Wheels

New Ltd Ed of 50 announced. I love the packaging and Hot Wheels car too.

Thoughts?

Not sure if the hot wheels car and cool box is worth 4 grand over regular version.

I love it! I guess the update is also the titanium case and the display caseback.

But man, I need more drinks to justify the premium.

I am not in the market for one but I absolutely LOVE the concept and design. I hope someone gets this and posts a bunch of pics.

Thanks everyone and price aside I feel it's a cool package. The Omega 50th Speedy also has some fun extras. Kinda makes me feel like a kid again.

BTW all 50 are 'sold'. A few by phone, and of course dealer allocation.

Still not convinced about trying to shoehorn the car theme into the pilot watch, instead of doing something actually new and revamping the Ingenieur in an appealing fashion (i.e. revert it to what it used to be). IWC truly dropped the ball by moving out of a genuine Genta design just as the Genta frenzy began, and for the life of me I can’t understand how they haven’t corrected that mistake yet. But that dial is pretty cool, and the partnership with Hot Wheels a fantastic idea to make a series out of.

I called my multi-brand AD and they checked with IWC and was told they are sold out. I then called IWC and was told that Hot Wheels (Mattel) controls the allocation for this piece and they have all been allocated.

I first learned about this piece from a Mattel Creations e-mail, but we were never given the opportunity to buy the watch. Rather, we were pointed to an auction to bid on the first set.

It's fun and not unattractive, but as Nav01L said, this would have been more fitting were it an Ingenieur Chrono.
I was a big fan of the prior generation:

This last generation went completely off the rails....

at first I thought the dial was carbon, but it's not and I don't mind it at all!

Thanks for the info, yeah it seems all were 'pre-sold'.
