Rolex logo on clasp of 126711 Rootbeer popped off ...
similar to @chasecup, a piece of my gold clasp came off as well. the rolex logo got caught on a rope and ripped off. luckily it was not lost, but my ad says they will not replace it under warranty because it was deemed an accident. replacement cost is around $1,000 for the whole piece (not whole clasp), but they can't get the part for about 6 months because they already placed their big order for the year. i'm in the bahamas btw. does anyone know if this can be repaired or if i can source the part elsewhere? thanks in advance.

I would have thought a good independent jeweller would be able to repair that.

This should be covered by warranty. Maybe send it directly to RSC if your AD doesn't want to help.

Bummer, yet these things happen. Easy warranty repair.

That should be a warranty item all day.

Any jeweler can spot weld that quickly and inexpensive.

That is the one thing I dont like about the Rolex 2-tones watches is that the gold is applied by adhesive on the clasp. I would have thought that they would have done a peg with a small spot weld on the underside like they do when they put hour markers on dials. A spot weld along with the adhesive would make it near impossible to pop off IMO.

Thats the problem, it is only applied with adhesive at the factory. Rolex does not spot weld the gold to the stainless.

Damn I did not know Rolex uses adhesive on TT watches. That is crazy to me.
What kind of adhesive do Rolex use to ensure longevity? Adhesive subject to heat and cold over 10+ years this is bound to happen and in this case much prematurely. |

Yes, it has been discussed before. Normally it wouldn’t come off, it usually takes a pretty good hit for it to come off
