called my local AD to see if they have a DD to try on for my smaller wrist.

Unfortunately they didnt have a DD40 but had a 36 but was offered a 2 tone Daytona right of the bat! No waiting list! I declined as it was not what I was interested in. They did invite me to come down though. They refuse to do ANY waiting list and will not sell to you multiple watches of the same model within a 2 year period.

Pretty much. I like them but not 18K like them. And the TT dial choices seem especially hard to read.

I saw them regularly up until late spring 2019. Was offered a white dial, but wasn’t for me...

Two-tone watches just aren't mainstream, so they're pretty casually available. That's awesome for folks who like them, though. Same with the smaller DD -- not as popular any more (for guys at least), but great prices are out there for people who do want one.

There's a lot to be said for buying a Rolex that isn't one of the "hot" models. Don't get a watch you're not in love with just because it's available (or cheap), but if you really do like it then don't let it stop you that it's not the "in" watch right now.

Yep I see the TT Dayton with diamond dial often. There is always someone who thinks its rare and buys it only because of that.

Two tone Rolexes are becoming more difficult to find recently and I’m not saying impossible but they don’t seem to be sitting in the cases as much lately. Might have to do with the factory closing etc.? Possibly people that want a GMT, Submariner, Daytona, etc., realize the Two Tones are really cool alternatives to the SS models that you have to wait years for in some cases...

I don't understand why would they refuse to sell multiple watches of the same model within a 2 years period?

To direct their watches to end users, and not middle men

Which is surely what all WIS want?
