please share your top 3 most beautiful Patek watches ever made

On Ken's last post I replied that the 5970 is imo one of the most beautiful watches Patek ever made.
So it made me curious , I wanted to know other people's TOP 3 list

So please think about it, more than once and to give you a hint … don't just name the 3 most complicated you know.

The most beautiful is imo seldom the most complicated. I had the sky moon tourbillon a few hours in my hands and I appreciated the technical
work of art but I will never say it was a beauty. Nor am I a fan of repeaters or tourbillons.
From a purely esthetic view a simple repeater looks like simple Calatrava. And a Calatrava is a nice watch but imo not for the TOP 3 ever :-)
And those super complications with multiple functions are imo most of the time too busy.

As you see, my choice does not have vintage pieces. The reason is simple.
For me they are way too small. Yes I like a 1518 and yes I like a 3970 but a 35 or 36 mm watch is just not for me. And yes I like some vintage chrono's
like a 530 but once again, those are imo too small to look good on a wrist.

So for me a wristwatch must be between 39 and 42 because otherwise the proportions just look wrong, not only on my wrist but often also on the dial.
a chronograph perpetual in a 35 mm watch is often unreadable or it looks a bit like a mess ( imo the 1518 has this problem)

So which 3 belong in your TOP 3 ever made ?

these are mine ( in no particular order)

The 5070 pure chronograph
No matter which color, I like all 4 of them :-)

The 5970, chrono perpetual
More ' busy' than a pure chronograph but still perfectly balanced so it had to be in my list

The 5131. A world timer in a great case, a perfect watch
and the enamel dial makes it the ultimate watch to close my top 3 list

As you can see, not the 500K and more pieces, not the ultra complications and except the 5131 they were all possible to order at your AD.
Forget about the 5070P which was VERY rare but like I said those other 3 5070 are imo perfect too

SO, How does your list look like ?

Bruno I am going to have to agree with you and for me the 5970, 5070 and 5131 all top 3 most beautiful Patek's made. I would also say the 5940J is a true contender as the watch is pure elegance at it's very best. So great list and now owning the 5970R it is top of the list for me! Cheers,

The 5940 is exquisite. The unique tonneau case really sets it apart.

Can't really disagree too much with these choices, but I would probably add the 5013P black face.

Only one above all... 3939a... Only one made. Sold for $1.9M... not bad for a SS watch.

The 5070. Although I don't know the ref#'s, any of the minute repeaters are in my top 3.

Agree with you on choices. I would also add 5204. Also agree 100% on the size dimensions point.

Amongst the watches I have tried on my wrist personally, I would say:

5204P - size more proportional than the 5004 relative to thickness
5131J - nothing more needs to be said of this watch
5170G - much better looking with the Breguet numerals than the 5070 watches with the hours markers cut off

I have tried on the 5004J and 5070R, but were not very impressed compared to the 5204 and 5170.

Bruno,

You are spot on! To be more specific for me it would be 3 different metals: 5970J, 5070P, and 5131G

Great thread and great watches Bruno. I agree with your choices, but would have to add the 3670a, which I've just been drooling over in your other thread. And the 5204.
